Easiest Scale to Read and Use that's actually fun despite the bad news...,

No more squinting down past your fat belly/thighs and between your toes to decipher the unpleasant verdict. The removable display can be handheld or mounted anywhere you can easily read the bad news. One of the best uses of wireless I've seen. Great weight, body fat, body water, and calorie data. It adusts for age, m/f, and level of activity from couch potato to athlete. Better yet, you don't have to get down on your knees to program or adjust it. It's ideal for old fat people like me with bad eyesight.I can walk the wireless display from my bathroom to my home office and enter the data into my PC's training log. Very slick. The only drawback I can find is that you need wet feet for an analysis. The best reading is given right after a shower. Finally, if you like the neck pain and squinting you can keep the display attached to to scale.

Seems to be an exceptional product,

I checked the scale for accuracy in weighing and found it to be within 2oz of perfect at 300lbs. That's close enough for my needs for sure! At first I was getting eratic readings for the body fat and water measurments, but then I read the manual(about 6 pages long, no biggie) and saw where it said your feet need to be slightly moist. After that nugget of info, I started weighing after showering in the mornings and found the body fat and water readings to be very consistent, and accurate too, at least when compared to the readings I get from the super expensive device used at my gym which tracks the Taylors results perfectly. I'm very pleased with the unit and feel it is a great value. Also love the detachable readout device. Very cool.

Great item, if you know how to read!,

I just received this item last night. It included all batteries. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND IT WORKS GREAT! Please ignore the morons who left reviews without having read the instructions first.1: If you want accurate fat%/water% readings, you need to dampen your feet first. I used a wet paper towel. Weighing after a shower works too. 2: If you think the readings "go too fast" hit the freakin recall button and you can scroll through each individual stat one by one! 3: You can save your height/weight/activity level/gender/age settings for up to 10 users. Once you do so, you just hit "Mode" then "Recall" then "Enter" after you select your slot, then step on the scale. 4: If you aren't getting a reading, first turn the thing on by hitting the MODE button, and make sure the infrared sensor has a direct line of sight path to the base if you have the display separated!

Not for obese people trying to lose weight,
This review is from: Taylor 5582 Wireless Body Fat Analyzer and Scale with Removable Display (Health and Beauty)
I bought this product almost a year ago when it was nearly $100 so I could keep track of my progress as I lost weight. My nutritionist and trainer both thought this would be a good idea since it promised to give readings of both body fat and water and give me calorie counts based on my activity level and current and ideal weight. The scale worked fine for me for the first three months, but now it stops after giving me my weight and reads "Err4". I know it can't be because of my weight because I've lost 25 lbs. since I first started using it and it still works just fine for my healthy, trim husband. I can get it to work for me if I adjust my height way up, but then that throws all the calculations off and does me no good. I contacted Taylor about this and they say it will give the Err code if body fat is higher than 50%, but again, it worked for me before and I've lost 25 pounds and been a lot more active than when it did work.

Great Value!,

You can't beat the value for this scale. You can buy 2 or 3 of these for the price of one typical BMI calculating scale. The only complaint I had read before purchasing this item was the difficulty in its programming and taking the Body Mass calculation. I say, if you have a high school diploma and know how to program a VCR, you should be able to figure it out just fine. You really do need to have your feet wet to do the BMI calcs. Weighing yourself after a shower would be the perfect time. The top panel comes out to act as a remote device. You could mount it on the wall of your bathroom if you wished (it comes with the hardware). However, I did not see the sense in doing so. The buttons are large enough to push with your toe and the screen is large enough to read if you just take a look down. However, if your gut obstructs the view of the readout, then the detachable part comes in handy.

Nice scale that works, one major feature is missing though,

I like it, it seems to be working fine. Repeated successive measures give the same result, and the body far percentage seem ok though I don't have any data to compare it too.It takes a bit of reading to figure all the settings. The display could be better as it scrolls too much information too fast without naming them. The weight only mode only gives your weight, but the advanced mode spits at you : - weight - body fat % - body water % - daily calories to keep this current weight - estimated target weight (seems wrong for me) - daily calories to maintain this estimated target weight So that's a lot of info to remember. Which leads me to the major feature missing ... MEMORY. My old scale (Terraillon from France) use to only give weight but would give me the weight change from the previous weigh-in ... that was an awesome feature that I'm bummed this Taylor does not have. With the Taylor you have to write things down yourself to remmber what you were previously.

Just got this scale yesterday, no problem with packaging or delivery, got here in 2 days. Nice touch: the product included all the bateries needed for it to work. It took me around half hour to program the scale. One thing to REMEMBER: make sure you take out the 1.5V battery that is already in. You need to unwrap it, and then put it back in. Otherwise, only the clock will work, but not the scale or fat analyzer. Programmable for up to 9 users. Great buy!

Pretty techie weighing scale,

This review is from: Taylor 5582 Wireless Body Fat Analyzer and Scale with Removable Display (Health and Beauty)
I have been using it for 2 months, and I like it so far. It was easy to start, but you need to refer to manual to try its different functions. Even later, you will feel the need to refer to it; as it is tough to figure out from the button controls, and trust me I am a techie. Also, the detachable display has to be in the line of sight to the base unit, I guess that is the limitation of infrared sensors. It takes 2 AAA and 1 9 Volt batteries (provided).

I am in the process of lossing some weight and wanted a scale to help me out. I was also looking for a scale that comes closer to what I weigh at the dr's office (my old scale was 8-15 lbs lighter, which was nice but not accurate). This is everything I was looking for and for such a great price. I also love the way the display can be disconnected from the scale and placed higher so I don't have to try to read the numbers from far away.
