Had it not been a gift from a dear friend this POS would have received top billing in my recycling bin.
Firstly, if you must use this unit, BE SURE TO INSTALL THE BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE UNIT FIRST!!! Failing to do so will lock the master unit into a search loop which is not always possible to recover from. The diplay is mostly unreadable unless of course your standing on your head in a well lit corner of the local asylum (restraints optional). The "Atomic Clock" don't even bother. I think it's trying to connect with Chernobyl. Use the manual setup. The readings are questionable at best. I live in mid-Michigan and I utilize the NOAA site at least once daily. I also have a very reliable, mechanical indoor outdoor T&H unit in my office. I compare the readings from NOAA to my old standby and I'm always within one degree 'F' and within 2% of humidity. Sadly, the 1526 is always off between 5% and 20% of both. So when all is said and done; PURCHASE A DIFFERENT UNIT. A Weather Rock is more accurate than this is... |
