I'm a fairly mediocre golfer so I always thought that clubs don't make too much of a difference. I had a starter set of Wilson clubs for years, but after trying my buddy's set of Taylor Made irons I decided to purchase these. The main two way that they improved my game are: 1) Longer distance on a consistent basis 2) Better play out of the rough, the club head is much heavier so it plows right through the thick stuff
I highly recommend these clubs, the only thing I'd recommend is to change the stock grips. I like the wrap around grips best.
Clubs are great they are lighter than my old clubs but feel better when the strike the ball. I am very happy I purchased these clubs. If you have any doubt as I did ..........don't you will not be disappointed.
After extensive research i decided to buy these clubs. I purchased from Amazon and regarding other reviews these are NOT fakes. They come with Taylormade everything and even product registration numbers through the Taylormade website. I previously played with Ram "Golden Ram" irons. These new Taylormades added 15-20 yards to each iron and confidence 4-AW is high. I am 6'4 and have no issues with length. Great buy.
This is an awesome set of irons. The Taylor Made clubs are outstanding and have really improved my game. I highly recommend these clubs for the average golfer (90 to 100 per round) as they will kncok five to ten strokes off your game.
Every year golf club manufacturers introduce the newest and finest clubs and mark down prior years clubs. I believe what is new is the marketing pitch. New clubs from last year or two year old models are still great - - but they are very cheap. They are a great buy.
I love these irons. Do not buy irons based on reviews because clubs are like woman. What you fall head over heels for I would not shake a stick at and visa versa. Go to a respectable dealer and hit a few different sets. Let the salesman think you are about to break the bank for a new shiny set and then give him the cold shoulder. I went to Edwin Watts and hit these out of 14 other sets and then came home and ordered them on Amazon for $250 cheaper. the only adjustment I needed was to have them turned down a degree and NO shop will adjust these clubs. Get fitted and send them back to Taylormade to be adjusted based on the fitting. The shop guy will snap these clubs in half before he is able to turndown the hostel 1 degree.
I have been playing with old hand me down clubs for years. Seeing that my scores were getting constantly worse and I was getting less distance, I figured it was time for an upgrade. Because its the clubs, not the player........ These clubs were clutch. I was slightly worried that being 6'2" would make buying clubs online difficult. Wrong. These clubs are perfect. I am getting great distance, great accuracy, and finally getting the spin and lower scores I was searching for all year. The grips are tacky which I love. The "A" wedge is perfect for 50-75 yards. Although golf is the most frustrating game out there, having good harware helps. These clubs are perfect.
I haven't played much in the last eight years. Prior to that I played regularly.. I had Callaway x16s custom-made. I had the worst slice anyone had ever seen. I was once told by a instructor that I should aim out of bounds left so that my shot would land in the right spot. While serving as a US Marine, I played a few rounds with rented clubs (Nike). I was surprisingly mediocre. These irons seem like they were made just for me. By just having a nice smooth swing and letting the club do it's job, my shot goes farther and straighter than I have ever hit. It's great to be back on the course. With these Taylor made burner plus irons I have a Ton of confidence hitting the ball.
