5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome clubs, great price, January 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm a fairly mediocre golfer so I always thought that clubs don't make too much of a difference. I had a starter set of Wilson clubs for years, but after trying my buddy's set of Taylor Made irons I decided to purchase these. The main two way that they improved my game are:
1) Longer distance on a consistent basis
2) Better play out of the rough, the club head is much heavier so it plows right through the thick stuff

I highly recommend these clubs, the only thing I'd recommend is to change the stock grips. I like the wrap around grips best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Straight shooters, November 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Having struggled with blades for over thirty years, I was encouraged by a low-handicapped partner to give these Burners a try. They're affordable and, if I may add, sharp-looking. I took them right to the course and found them consistently hitting to full length and straight, so much so that I had to be much more careful in target selection. That is, with my blades, I was shooting at a target the size of a green, perhaps offset left or right to avoid hazards. With my Burners, my target size is a quarter of a green, and I pick my line based on where I want to leave my ball. My biggest challenge now is shaping shots. I was in trouble so much with my blades that I learned to bend around obstacles like trees. The Burners are much harder to shape. But, then, is that such a terrible problem when the ball flies so true most of the time?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Price for Good Clubs, January 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I learned after purchasing these for my dad that the 2009 Burners were better received, however, these clubs are great for your average (or even below average like me!) golfer. The weighting of the club face is spread evenly around the face for a forgiving contact with the ball, meaning you don't have to hit the ball exactly on the sweet spot. My dad was delighted to get these for Christmas and has already enjoyed using them on the course.
For the price, this set of clubs is an excellent deal, a quality set made by a great company.

5.0 out of 5 stars Game improvement at its best!, June 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got these for a ridiculous price and my 3 handicap has been solid. The ball jumps off the club face and with a very slight draw that allows me to get it at the pin. Does not produce much spin (but I've learned not to use it anyway to save strokes). Chipping from just off the green takes practice as the ball literally jumps off the club face and at first it takes a while to gauge correct roll. You cannot go wrong with these clubs!

4.0 out of 5 stars good bargain, February 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Taylor made irons were well worth the money I paid for them. I would have never bought them from the marked up prices at the dealers around the country. Your just getting ripped off by them. I am satified with the product and with the reasonable price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best clubs for beginners, May 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: TaylorMade Burner Plus Irons (Sports)
I just received them and have used them for over 10 days now and I can see the change... I have clubs with normal flex which makes it more efficient that I can control my swing and let the club get the distance. I would recommend the clubs to any beginner. As others have mentioned they are forgiving but you have to remember to control the swing and these clubs will do wonders.

Enjoy teeing off.... I am at the 19th hole ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Beware of YOUR GOLF SUPERSTORE, December 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: TaylorMade Burner Plus Irons (Sports)
Purchased these irons through Your Golf Superstore and once I received the Irons I went to Golf Galaxy and immediately felt something fishy about the irons I received. Long story short, purchased the clubs from Sports Authority to compare side by side in my own home. Well the clubs were ever sooo slightly different, the only visible difference I could see was the numbers on each iron, the Sports Authority ones were much thicker (Bolder). Be Aware!!!

These Irons are Great. The weighting they have help you continually make a good constant swing and ball striking. I am very excited about really working with these clubs and will update my review once I have a few more rounds in.
