I absolutely love this product. I wish I had bought more than one. The only flaw is that it can't support a large bar of soap. It's still an exellent addition to the bathroom and is very attractive.

The magnetic soap holder seems like "magic" at first glance! It gives the illusions of a bar of soap suspended in space. Children and adults are fascinated. It works with standard bar soaps, as well as fancy milled soaps, eliminating the need for a soap dish and the associated build up of soap scum. I purchased one as a novelty for a remodeled bathroom, and ordered additional ones because so many friends and family were intrigued. Both a novel and useful product.

This clever design provides a near-perfect solution to soggy soap bars that lose more soap to "erosion" than to hand washing. It's elegant design keeps soap dry between uses by allowing water to drop off of it into the sink and by suspending it, allowing air to circulate all around it. The built seems solid and, after a year, the chrome finish has not shown signs of deteriorating.

This is an outstanding design and is very reasonably priced--under $17 including shipping, at the time of this review.

I like the soap holder as I wanted a way to avoid messy soap dishes.
It is nice looking, but I am skeptical as to how long the finish will last.

The two problems I encountered were:

1. The base is not weighted heavily enough and if you don't take the soap off just right, it will shift out of place.

2. When I went to peel off the SKU label on the bottom, the cheap foam bottom peeled off with it!

Aha! Now that there was a slit in the bottom, anyway, I slipped pennies into the base to make it heavier.

Problem solved. =)

In an effort to rid ourselves of the clutter "hotspot" of the bathroom counter, we redesigned our bathroom with an Ikea sink that has no counter, just two small ledges to the left and right of the faucet. While the sink came with a metal soap holder, it didn't take long for it to look gunky and messy. This soap holder fits the bill perfectly, as the small base fits one one of the ledges perfectly. The soap ends up hanging over the bowl right next to the faucet, so it's even easy for my 3-year-old to reach it, plus she thinks it more fun than a pump-style dispenser, which is great for me because the bar soaps are so much more economical.

I'd also agree with a previous reviewer who mentioned that this probably wouldn't work as well on the extra large bar soaps. (My mental size guide goes: tiny hotel soaps, regular bar soaps, and extra large "brick" soaps.) If I'm in too much of rush putting the soap back, I can rock the holder on it's base a little bit, not a problem in my case since the holder is wedged between the sink and wall. But if you were going to be rough with it, or use a really big bar of heavy soap, I could imagine it tipping over.

I ordered this product in 2007. This product has solved all of my "soggy soap" problems that my kids always seem to to leave behind. I'm now online ordering one for all of the bathrooms and my family and friends. Great product.

Love this product. We all know what the used soap looks like but this allows the soap to dry between uses with no more mess. Handy for the whole family.

This is such a genius way to store soap. These are very popular in Europe, but not so much in the States, so I was delighted to find one with free-stand design.

The holder handles the weight of average bar soap well, and it is sturdy. I do have a problem with the neck. I wish it was a few inches higher because the way it is makes placement really awkward: soap always seems to be in a way. The arch also takes up some room, which can make placement of the base rather limited, but I understand it is so for balancing reasons. Still, would have loved to see this redesigned just a tad higher for this holder to be more functional. Another draw-back is the lining of the base, which wickers water, so it's always damp. Despite these two drawbacks, this is a still a great item and works as advertized.

When I read the reviews I wasn't sure if the base would be heavy enough to hold my soap bar, but I immediately fell in love with it when I set it up in my bathroom. My soap bar is still big so I'm not sure how well this product performs when my soap becomes very small.
