5.0 out of 5 stars Great taste when cold brewed! April 26, 2009
Flavor Name:Awake|Verified Purchase
I have been drinking this tea for months now along with the Tazo Zen green tea. I love both flavors and have found that they make a wonderful iced tea (the only way I like to drink tea). I have found that if you cold brew this tea and the Zen green tea, they do have the flavor undertones that the box states. It almost seems to have a "solidness" to the flavor that seems to fit the breakfast concept well. I definitely recommend it if you like a nice smooth flavor to your black tea. I use the Starbucks Classic syrup in this tea and the flavor is perfect together (you can buy classic syrup in a bottle from almost any Starbucks location).

Just as a side for those who are interested. Cold brewing just means that you place the tea bags in the fridge in water and let it set, usually at least 3 hours. It's that simple! It maintains the full subtle flavor of the tea much better and is almost impossible to turn bitter or mess it up unless you use too many tea bags. This only works if you plan to have iced tea of course. I use 4 "Awake" tea bags in 2 quarts of water and let it set overnight. I don't remove the tea bags until I have drank all the tea. It's delicious and super easy. I would recommend trying it to anyone who likes iced tea!

5.0 out of 5 stars My all time favorite chai tea... May 8, 2009
Flavor Name:Chai
This one is the Best of all the chai teas I've tried, and I've tried bunches!

Numi - almost as good, but very pricey
Twinnings - all you taste is black tea, no chai spices
Stash - too cinnamony
Good Earth - great chai spice taste, but not enough black tea taste!
Yogi - see Good Earth
Celestial Seasonings - see Stash

I've even tried the Marsala Chai at Cost Plus, which was pretty good, but can't compare to Tazo!

Tazo has the perfect blend of black tea and chai spices and is reasonably priced. I alternate this one with Stash Holiday Chai (my 2nd favorite).

If you don't want to buy this much tea just to try, then go to Target. They have individual boxes of this tea for under 4 bucks.

5.0 out of 5 stars So good! July 8, 2009
Flavor Name:Passion|Verified Purchase
So, going through Starbucks one day, not wanting a coffee, I came across their "Passion Shaken Tea." I plunked down my money, and found the best drink I've had in a long time.

This tea has a flavor that I can't quite place, but don't care--it's so good that I'm actually giving up some of my soda addiction.

If you like fresh, tangy flavors, this tea is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars simply the best July 24, 2008
Flavor Name:Chai|Verified Purchase
I love coffee and black teas, and I've tried every black and chai tea under the sun. But I always come back to Tazo Chai Tea, I don't know why but it's the best one out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars The name says it all! August 8, 2008
By Justia
Flavor Name:Refresh|Verified Purchase
I LOVE this tea! My first introduction was a gift from one of my former students, and I am absolutely hooked on it. This tea is good with anything, but especially with Middle Eastern, African, or Indian foods. The unique flavors of mint are enhanced by tarragon...which is not as strange as it sounds!

5.0 out of 5 stars Magical Tazo Tea May 30, 2008
Flavor Name:Black Darjeeling
"Sitting on the porch of a bungalow on a tea plantation in Darjeeling, you can see the peaks of Everest and Kanchenjunga as you sip a cup of this exquisite brew. Life is good." ~tea packet

If you want a subtle tea with a smooth, soothing flavor, then Darjeeling is an excellent choice. The slightly floral flavor is much milder than an Earl Grey. I especially love this blend when eating a Caramel Apple Cobbler Clif Bar. For some reason, the flavors mingle nicely.

While many of the Tazo teas are blends of a variety of teas, this tea is purely a blend of Organic Black Darjeeling teas. The tea is grown near India's border with Bhutan. There are only "true Darjeeling" tea leaves in this tea.

This tea is just perfect when blended with an Organic Sucanat: Natural Sugar Cane. You might also want to try using "milk powder" instead of cold milk with your tea. I find it helps to keep the tea strength and adds a creamy element to the smoothness of this tea.

Darjeeling is a very satisfying blend for morning tea. You might also enjoy AWAKE and Earl Grey if you enjoy this tea.

I just love the packaging of the Tazo Teas. The individual wrappings have a nice crinkly sound and the colors are all so soothing and quite beautiful. These teas are definitely for the aesthetically aware. Drinking Tazo teas literally becomes a magical experience. There is something mysterious going on here. The teas even seem to have a magical glint or luster to them. When you drink Tazo teas the world looks more beautiful and you feel much more aware of life itself. I find that my creativity soars after drinking Tazo teas.

For more information on the mysteries of Tazo Tea, read the review for the Tazo Assorted Teas.

For a calming experience try the Tazo Calm Herbal Infusion which is perfect for quiet evenings, after completing a yoga workout or just to sip on while you write in your journal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rooibos Tea and Spices. August 27, 2008
Flavor Name:Scarlet Citrus Rooibos
Rooibos is Afrikaans for "red bush." Grown in South Africa's Cederburg Mountains and harvested during the summer, this tea acquires its unique red color as a result of fermentation (in mounds) and oxidization, when it is spread out to dry in the sunlight; naturally it is green.

Rooibos is known for its health benefits stemming from its rich content in vitamins, antioxidants, flavanoids and minerals (inter alia, magnesium, calcium, iron, copper, zinc, potassium, fluoride, manganese and alpha-hydroxy) and has a long tradition of medicinal use among the local Native population; among other things, it is known to help cure asthma, hay fever and other allergies, acne, eczema, colics, indigestion, insomnia, and nervous tension. Containing very few tannins and no caffeine, rooibos has a distinctive aroma and amber color.

This tea blends well with various spices and condiments; my favorite mixture is a delicious loose leaf blend sold by my local tea store, which features orange peel, cinnamon, grated coconut, finely minced chili and red pepper. For a more commercial alternative, though, Tazo's Red Bush tea is a great choice as well: a rich, exquisite blend of rooibos, hibiscus, orange peel, rosemary, several lemon ingredients (lemon myrtle, verbena and balm), as well as a number of sweet spices. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars nice and strong
My husband loves this tea, although I find it a bit too peppery. Its all a matter of taste. I like that the tea is strong, unlike a lot of other chais I've tried.
