This review is from: Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn: Violin Concertos (Audio CD)
Beautiful. The sound is a little backward(too distantly microphoned), otherwise an awesome recording. Milstein plays with gorgeous tone and real poetry. Abbado (noted for being a great Mendelssohn interpreter) conducts very well, and the balance between orchestra and soloist is perfect. The tempo feels just right. The liner notes feature an interesting essay which comments on the timeless beauty of the Mendelssohn Concerto. The Tchaikovsky is well done too. If you want a recording with both passion and perfection, this CD is for you.

Nathan Milstein and Claudio Abbado give us a perfect interpretation of Tchaikovsky's violin concerto, and the balance between orchestra and soloist is the best one I've even heard. Tchaikovsky's violin concerto is the best one of such CDs.
