1.0 out of 5 stars Predictable
This book is exactly what you would expect: A far-right, religion-based, Obama-bashing, Socialism-baiting screed. Save your $10. Better yet, donate it to the Southern Poverty Law Center in Birmingham. The author is very predictable. This review is from: The Tea Party Manifesto (Paperback)
This book is exactly what you would expect: A far-right, religion-based, Obama-bashing, Socialism-baiting screed. Save your $10. Better yet, donate it to the Southern Poverty Law Center in Birmingham. The author is very predictable. He bashes president Obama's credentials as a professor of constitutional law by quoting a piece from Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope" and then claiming not to understand it. He pushes fundamentalist religion as a basis of Tea Partyism, instead of following the more reasonable approach of preferring that each individual follow his own freedom of religion. The Tea Party already has a religious doctrine set out for you to follow. The author asks whether Socialism is constitutional and arrives at the expected answer of "no", conveniently neglecting to note that Socialism is an economic system, not a political one. Socialism correctly understood as such is no more or less compatible with the Constitution than is Capitalism. Political systems incompatible with the Constitution are Fascism, Communism, Monarchism, and Anarchism. Note that Fascism and Communism are BOTH economic and political systems, whereas Capitalism and Socialism are economic systems.
