4.0 out of 5 stars Better than average seeds
I hesitate to say great, but definitely better than average.

Of the 10 seeds, after following appropriate instructions and with some research tips, I was able to make 4 of them actually break the soil. Another 2 germinated, but never broke the soil. The other 4 looked completely ungerminated.

The method I used for planting these is as follows:...

1.0 out of 5 stars All bad seeds/ RIPOFF
I've grown this plant before, and every single one of the seeds I received was no good. At about $1 per seed, I'm very disappointed.

Of the 10 seeds, after following appropriate instructions and with some research tips, I was able to make 4 of them actually break the soil. Another 2 germinated, but never broke the soil. The other 4 looked completely ungerminated.

The method I used for planting these is as follows: I soaked each for about an hour and a half. Then cracked all of the shells (you might have better luck with completely removing the shells). Last, I planted them in Vermiculite to a depth of about 3/4" to 1" and put them in a room in my house that stays warmer than the rest of the house and put them in a seed starting greenhouse. It only took about 3 to 4 weeks for the seedlings to break the soil.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great seeds... If you're patient., April 3, 2011
This review is from: Tea Plant 10 Seeds-Brew Your Own Tea-Camellia-Tropical
The packet included 10 seeds. I took them completely out of the shells to plant them. I found it was best to use plyers or nut crackers: it's the only way to shell them without damaging them.
Two of the nuts were empty shells. Not sure how that's possible, but they were.
One I damaged getting it out of the shell. (before I figured out the plyers)
Of the 7 that were left, 6 started to grow.
I lost 3 to overwatering. Don't just water every day, make sure the soil is dry at least 1" down from the surface before watering again.
The 3 that remain are growing well. Two have broken the soil and the third is on the way (I peeked).

The thing is, they took over two months before the first one broke the surface. You need the patience of a monk to grow these from seedlings. It's also supposed to take 3 years before you can harvest a cup of tea from a plant. So there's that.

Still, that sort of thing suits my temperament just fine. If it sounds good to you, go for it!

I have had these seeds planted for about a year. I only got one really good plant out of it and it grows very slow. It has been a year and it is still not much more then a sprout. I would say the seeds are ok since half tried but not the fastest way to get tea for sure. If you have 20 years your might get a nice shrub out of it.

They said that the product would arrive within a week, but it actually came three days earlier. The quality of the product was also fantastic, which makes this a very good buy!! I would definitely recommend buying seeds from this company!

Received in a timely manner. Followed the directions and the seeds have yet to sprout, but I'm a patient person.

I thought it might be fun to start a tea plant so I bought these seeds. It's October and I don't plant them until March. Seems to be a great product, and it was a great price and fast delivery. Not sure if I can add to this review letting you know whether the planted seeds sprout or not. No reason to think they won't.
