About the Author

Shelley and Bruce Richardson were recognized by Tea Time magazine in 2006 as two of the leading trailblazers in America's current tea renaissance. Their culinary influence can be seen in tea rooms throughought Americas.

For 14 years, they owned and operated one of the most recognized tea locations in the country, the historic Elmwood Inn in Perryville, Kentucky. The Richardsons are frequent guest speakers at professional tea events and they are the authors of ten tea books. Mr. Richardson serves on the Advisory Board for the Specialty Tea Institute (STI) and is a columnist for Fresh Cup magazine.

The Richardsons are the owners of Elmwood Inn Fine Teas and Benjamin Press, located in Perryville, Kentucky.

I have had the privilege of dining at the Elmwood Inn and meeting the authors of this book. I have personally made most of these recipes and they are absolutely wonderful. Will make your tea party forever memorable.

Too often tea books rely on beautiful pictures for content, without coming through on quality recipes.

The Tea Table was a charming surprise - while the photography is indeed lovely, it is only a small part of the book. The bulk of the book is made up of unique and interesting recipes. In particular, the savories/sandwiches section is excellent - a large variety made of easily found ingredients. I look forward to presenting these at my next tea party.

I went to the Elmwood Inn once and loved the ambiance. Unfortunately, they closed their tea room but at least we have books documenting their lovely teas. This one is up there with A Tea for All Seasons.
