5.0 out of 5 stars Music as exotic, varied and peaceful as its name: Tea
I originally bought this album at a museum of Asian art. I enjoyed it so much and it elicited so many comments when I played it at work on my iMac, that I searched Amazon.com to buy copies to give to friends who love music, tea, or both.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not really my cup of tea...
This CD is relaxing. The music is very Chinese based new age sounding. It is performed well and does what it sets out to do--create a calming soundscape. For the most part it's well integrated and easy to listen to. However, I personally dislike whooshy synthesizer music--I very much prefer actual instruments/voices. I originally bought this album at a museum of Asian art. I enjoyed it so much and it elicited so many comments when I played it at work on my iMac, that I searched Amazon.com to buy copies to give to friends who love music, tea, or both.

Played on exotic instruments and combining elements of different regions of China, this music makes excellent and elegant background music for entertaining. And like I mentioned, I enjoy listening to it at work, where I sometimes keep it in my computer because its soothing sounds help start the day right.

By the way, I like coffee, too.

This music is truly beautiful. It is delightfully tranquil without being dull, and does have an enticing journey-ing quality in its succession of moods. An intriguing blend of new with various older Asian rhythms and instruments.

For the most part it's well integrated and easy to listen to. However, I personally dislike whooshy synthesizer music--I very much prefer actual instruments/voices. I find synthesized flutes etc may relax me, but real flutes impart a spiritual depth and complexity of sound that synthesized music doesn't (except Brian Eno's Thursday Morning, but that's another story).

This is one of the best "serenity" CD's I now have, and I have plenty!
