"Tea Wisdom is a charming collection of the most beautiful tea photography perfectly paired with lovely tea quotes and quips."—The Tea Cup of Life blog

"Tea Wisdom is a small book with beautiful photos, larger print (but not huge), and a wealth of wisdom about tea. It is perfect for a tea moment of just you, a cuppa, and the wisdom of the ages."—English Tea Store blog

"Check out this little treasure and let it be part of your tea time, giving you that harmonious, tranquil environment, and bringing you, in its little way, a bit closer with humans throughout time and around the globe…—Little Yellow Teapot

More About the Author

When I graduated from university, where I began studying tea and Eastern thought, I spent a decade traveling the world, finally settling in Taiwan where I currently reside. I also lived for quite some time in India, China and Japan. I have had the great fortune to study with some the best tea masters in the world, learning many different traditions. Tea is medicine to me, for purifying the body and more importantly the soul, as an aspect of a healthy spiritual practice. I use tea as a means of purification, though my daily life also revolves around a healthy diet, tai chi, meditation, prayer and study.

I am the Senior Managing Editor of all English Publications at Wushing Publications, Ltd.; and therein one of the main contributors to the magazine "The Art of Tea". I am also a co-founder and the editor-in-chief of the online magazine "The Leaf" (www.the-leaf.org), and an avid painter. Most of my art is also tea-stained. You can view it at: www.sagacitea.com

We have a free tea center/school in Taiwan. You can read about it at: www.teasagehut.org as well as a global outreach program called Global Tea Hut. (www.globalteahut.org) You are welcome to visit and share a cup of tea!

Format: Paperback
This 236 page book is such a delight to read; and one could read it over cover to cover many times over. I suspect that the second reading will likely commence only after a pot of tea has been boiled and ready by one's side. The editor has collected the wisest and most serene thoughts associated with tea into this book. The sayings come not only from Chinese and Japanese sages, but also western ones. Some are just a one-liner like, "A true warrior, like tea, shows his strength in hot water." Others are lengthier poetry. The book is also filled with numerous photographs and paintings of tea, tea parties, and utensils and crockery for the consumption of tea. The paintings are mainly Chinese and Japanese art. This is a small book and makes an excellent gift for any occasion.

This is a nice "reflective" book. The quotes are inspiring. I would have liked a little more history on tea rooms.

I don't normally enjoy books of quotations because they tend to be overly sentimental, but the best way I can describe this book is nice. It's a nice way to spend a few moments or an afternoon reflecting on tea. It's got a nice selection of quotes from a very wide variety of sources like famous authors, ancient poets and modern entrepreneurs. Some of the quotes are moments in books where tea plays a role, I found these to be really enjoyable. Highly recommend as a gift, especially for tea lovers.
