This is a very high quality CD-RW CD drive from Teac. It is exceptionally quiet and reliable. I bought the black unit because it fit with my case. It is extremely fast, as fast as they come and I have found no faults with it. Teac has been making these drives and other electronic equipment for years and this continues to prove they have earned the excellent reputation they deserve.

Easy installation, excellent software, great price. I wasn't able to find a similar product at any of the superstores for my older (2002) computer. Dell had a replacement at over twice the price. I'm glad I checked out Amazon.

In the 70's Teac made the best of everything audio: cassette decks, reel-to-reel recorders, etc. I'm so happy an old friend solved my problem! Four years ago, Dell replaced my CD-RW drive for just under $100 and it was very slow. This product is fast, inexpensive, easy to install and works with my old Dimension 4300! You'll probable have to remove the installation glides from your old drive since this one is shipped without glides. All you need is a small screwdriver. One word of warning: Check the CSEL/Slave/Master configuration jumper on your old drive when you take it out and make sure you set the Teac to the same pins.
