Of course, any good classic console also needs an AM/FM radio, and the GF-680's is particularly reliable thanks to its quartz PLL synthesized tuning and the 40 station presets (20 AM and 20 FM). And should you tire of CDs, LPs, and the radio, you can always pop in your '80s cassettes for a big-hair flashback. The dual deck also dubs from tape to tape and records from the other audio sources.
The most significant modern touch comes in the form of the two-way speaker system, which fortunately sounds nothing like the scratchy speakers of yesteryear. Each speaker boasts a 5.25-inch woofer and a 2-inch tweeter, with a bass boost system adding extra oomph to the lows. In addition, the system offers three preset equalizer settings (for rock, pop, and classic) to round out your music's audio profile. The console system measures 15.4 by 35.1 by 14.9 inches (W x H x D).
What's in the Box
GF-680 console stereo, remote control, 45 rpm adapter, user's manual.

This review is from: Teac GF-680 Console Stereo with 3-CD Changer, Turntable, Cassette Deck, and AM/FM Tuner (Electronics)
I really am enjoying this new stereo. It was very easy to program with radio stations and the quality of the sound is very good. My one spot of difficulty is in reading the buttons for the cassette player. They are labeled in such a way that one must squat down and be at eye level with them. I bought the model that has legs and stands on the floor. I wish I had purchased the model that sits on a tabletop.

Teac GF-680 Console Stereo,
This review is from: Teac GF-680 Console Stereo with 3-CD Changer, Turntable, Cassette Deck, and AM/FM Tuner (Electronics)
Looks very nice, most of the features work great. Main problem is that the speakers are small, and there only two of them, and they are mounted below knee level. There are 2 RCA style plugs for external speaker, but they did not work. Had to open the back and hook up to the existing speakers. Once i attached 2 additional speakers at head level then the unit sounded great.
For the price it is a great deal!

Nostalgic style stereo,
This review is from: Teac GF-680 Console Stereo with 3-CD Changer, Turntable, Cassette Deck, and AM/FM Tuner (Electronics)
This stereo is great for anyone with a vintage style decor. Everything works really well, although I will probably add some very small external speakers to project the sound a little better. Also, the controls on the front are hard to read. You need to crouch down and use a flashlight if it's in a dark corner of a room. The plus is that it comes with a remote, but I chose to memorize the controls. But for anyone that doesn't want a modern stereo sticking out like a sore thumb amongst their antiques and collectables, the small hassle is well worth it.
