Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Just the thing for CD- and radio-starved kitchens, bedrooms, offices, and places of business, Teac's slim and stylish SR-L35B stereo system is slender enough to be inconspicuous but powerful enough--with 9 watts per channel and a pair of 2.3-inch speakers in bass-reflex enclosures--to deliver clear, pleasing sound. Whether you set it on a desk or mount it to the wall, you'll have your choice of audio programming when and where you need it. The SR-L35B is also a digital clock with handy sleep and wake timers.

Audio-CD-R-compatible disc features include random play, repeat play (1/all), and program play (up to 20 tracks in sequence), and a cool motorized door opens and closes to release or embrace your discs. The unit boasts a drift-free, quartz PLL-synthesized FM/AM tuner with 20 station presets for one-touch tuning to whisk you elsewhere when commercials cut in with their too-loud voices.

A headphone jack permits private listening, and the system even sports a stereo auxiliary input for your MP3 player, cassette deck, or other device. Icing on the charcoal-colored cake, the system also includes a remote control for convenient source and level adjustments from afar.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great basic sound, a little strong on the bass, February 28, 2005

This review is from: Teac SR-L35B Tabletop or Wall-Mountable AM/FM Stereo CD System (Charcoal) (Electronics)
The SR-L35 is compact, easy to use, and attractive. The sound is excellent for the size. Unfortunately, I prefer a tad less bass in my music, and there's no ability to make any kind of adjustments to the sound (e.g., bass/treble, etc.). This surprised me, but in reviewing other tabletop systems , it looks like this may be the norm. Note that for some reason, when I purchased this item it was $10 cheaper in silver - which I preferred anyway - than in charcoal or white.

This review is from: Teac SR-L35B Tabletop or Wall-Mountable AM/FM Stereo CD System (Charcoal) (Electronics)
Bought this for a table radio in my home office, and I'm very pleased. Good sound, just the right size. Everything works like it's supposed to, I only needed the instructions to set the clock. FM sensitivity and noise rejection are better than the older Sony boombox this replaced, the Teac pulls in a low-power jazz station that the old unit wouldn't. Nice, too, that the antenna connection is a cable jack, so if you get FM feeds over your TV cable, you're all set.

Just a couple gripes...

Power supply - just what I need, another wall transformer. The power line was frayed from being balled up against the AC plug prongs during shipping. Easy to fix - just a dash of electrical tape. // Remote control bateries not included - I am $1.50 and a trip to the store away from being a -lot- happier with the remote. // The CD door is motorized operation only, and only works with Function set to CD. Going to take some getting used to.

Like I said, just some small stuff. The unit sounds great, and the Tuner seems to be top-notch. Overall, very happy. It's a keeper.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the desktop but not for the bedroom, October 29, 2005

This review is from: Teac SR-L35B Tabletop or Wall-Mountable AM/FM Stereo CD System (Charcoal) (Electronics)
The sound is pretty good, but it misses the mark as a sophisticated replacement for a clock-radio. The unit has a timer (radio or CD as alarm) and it has a separate antenna input (I need a "real" antenna in my area.) It DOES NOT have the following: Alarm (beeper), display dimmer (too bright for bedroom), tone control. Pretty disappointing considering the price. Teac's online documentation is poor, not describing the unit well or providing a manual in advance of purchase.
