Deeply flawed,

Physically, the main problem is the design of the CD door. All it takes is for one unsuspecting user to "pull it open" and the gears are stripped. Then it's broke.
Electronically the thing is a joke. You can't see the time and play a CD at the same time! Not only that, after you fall asleep to a CD the clock will not appear, even after the CD is over.

Forget about what the previous reviewer said - this product specifically warns against manually pulling the door open. Instead, know that is sounds GREAT, looks AMAZING, and is an excellent wall-mount stereo. I installed mine in the master bath, and I could not be more pleased with the sound and quality - especially when playing CD's. Simply Wonderful ~ thanks TEAC ~ keep the quality coming!

I'm very pleased with this item. I wasn't expecting Bose equivalency at these prices, but what I got was miles ahead of some other more expensive items I've owned. Very good sound, with adequate, if not fabulous, bass. It's attractive as well -- I'm a sucker for electric blue lights -- and unlike some other systems, it's got a display you can actually see in the daytime. I've read a couple of reviews that said there was a hum out of this unit, but you couldn't prove it by me -- mine just sits there without any extracurricular activity that I'm aware of. And as far as damaging the unit by yanking the doors open manually when there are warnings all over the unit and the manual not to... well, "Doctor, it hurts when I do this."

Outstanding sound for a small box.AC adapter is very bulky, especially for a small area.Time display must be manually hit when the unit is on. CD works well, but again must open door with a manual button. Room for improvement.

I wall-mounted this radio in my newly renovated bathroom. It looks great except for the large AC adapter that is black and quite large. (Can't the color of these adapters be made to match the device they're plugged into?) Radio reception is good, even though the room has no windows and is at near basement level.
The CD player works very well- you can't miss the notice on top of the product that tells you not to open the drawer manually. The remote control is my favorite feature. While lounging in my new bathtub I can change radio stations or turn on the CD player. |
