This review is from: 101 Ways to Teach Children Social Skills: A Ready-to-Use Reproducible Activity Book (Spiral-bound)
This is not for younger children and definitely not for young children in special education. The exercises, especially the reproducibles, appear pretty boring and seem to involve a lot of writing and higher order thinking. I would guess that this is more for students in possibly the fourth grade on up. I wish that there had been a preview available. The book arrives shrink-wrapped and is spiral bound.

Great Resource!!!,
This review is from: 101 Ways to Teach Children Social Skills: A Ready-to-Use Reproducible Activity Book (Spiral-bound)
I am a School Adjustment Counselor in a low income, urban elementary school. I absolutely LOVE this book. It is one of the best I have come across to help teach social skills. I run between 7 - 9 social skills groups a week and I use the activities in this book to tailor each group to the specific needs of the children in them. I agree with a previous reviewer that the lessons may not be geared to very young children (I would say 2nd to 3rd grade). However, it does not take much to be able to make the lesson appropriate for younger grade levels. This year I am working with the younger grades (pre-K through 2) and have had no issues with easily adapting the lessons for even Kindergarteners (have not done any pre-K groups yet)! The book breaks lessons into 9 sections: communicating, nonverbal communication, being part of a group, expressing your feelings, caring about yourself and others, problem solving, listening, standing up for yourself, and managing conflict. I also like the CD to easily print up individual lessons. I have bought MANY social skills curriculums/ activity books over the years and keep on coming back to this one. LOVE IT!!
