Explicit Phonics MUST HAVE,
By Book-Loving-Teacher (Indiana, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Teach Spelling (Spiral-bound)
This book fills in the gaps that are created with most basal "phonics" instruction. This makes the "generalizations" of spelling very clear, and will provide teachers with explantions for why words don't fit a pattern. Usually, our "exceptions" fit an entirely different spelling generalization. I have found this to be an invaluable resource for word study, and I have learned just as much as my students. FINALLY, I am able to explain "why" words do or don't follow a pattern.
