1.0 out of 5 stars Turn Your Child Off from Art, July 7, 2011
This review is from: Teach Your Child to Draw: Bringing Our Your Child's Talents and Appreciation for Art (Paperback)
I do not recommend this book at all. It is presented in a way that will ruin the art experience for anyone- even someone who already likes art. It's a damaging book and includes methods that turn people away from art. The lessons are dull and fight the natural tendencies of children and their development. Some subject matter includes a comb, a chair, a closed umbrella, a toothbrush, a pair of scissors, a portrait of you, and a slice of apple. Some suggestions are more crafty than artistic. The lessons are not suitable for very young children. The lessons are vague and incomplete in teaching principles of art and are geared toward making a child feel inadequate.

I generally like to give people the opportunity to determine this for themselves by describing things directly from the book rather than read my conclusions, but I have pulled this review to edit twice now and cannot bring myself to leaving you with any damaging details.
