As a Sr. system analyst, I was asked to evaluate the readinessfor Win 2000 Pro to be used in my company, as well as finding goodresource and training materials for my staff. After browsing several similar books in a local B&N bookstore, I picked this one as our official handbook, for the following reasons:1. The price is right. For 19.99, it is wallet-welcome for many of my co-workers, and my company (if my company decides to pay, hopefully). 2. It is cook-book easy. There is almost not a single page going without figures. I found from teaching experience that it is the easiest way for people to follow. 3. It covers most of the topics a new W2K user will ask, from installation to configuration to networking to trouble-shooting. And it explain things in plain English that most of the people will appreciate. The procedural steps are numbered on the figure with actions shown under the it, making it very easy to follow. 4. After each chapter there is a Q&A section called Personal Workbook. A reader then can review and test his/her knowledge just learned. I do think it is a nice touch as a teaching materials because it helps a user to identify some blind spots, as well as pointing out the more important parts covered in that chapter. I think this book is well organized and very easy to read. It is not the most advanced book around, however, for $19.99........... there is nothing to lose to get this book. END
