The best beginners HTML book on the market., April 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Teach Yourself Html 3.2 in 24 Hours (Sams Teach Yourself) (Paperback)
This book helped me out so much when I just started out. I was 13, and had just gotten the internet and I realized that even the average person had a web page, so I looked at the source code and realized that it is not that hard. I wanted to expand my knowledge, so I bought this book, and it helped so much. It has definetly helped me as a resource when writing my pages now. I reccommend this book to anyone just starting out.

A fantastic beginner's book with clear, useful explanations., December 30, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Teach Yourself Html 3.2 in 24 Hours (Sams Teach Yourself) (Paperback)
With a strong example-to-paragraph of information ratio, this this title is readable and well presented: highly reccomended. But I'll hold back on a 10 only because the authors only skimmed the most important aspect of HTML layout: tables. While this book *was* just a starter, as the "...24 Hours" claims, I am still struggling to learn how tables function. Still it's, very well-written, enjoyable, topical (covering what you need to know), and organized, giving you a good taste so all those lines of Hypertext Markup start becoming legible.

Reccommended as an HTML starting point, November 20, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Teach Yourself Html 3.2 in 24 Hours (Sams Teach Yourself) (Paperback)
Recently, I was thrown into web development (as a graphic designer) when the only 2 websters in my company were both sacked. I picked up this book and hoped it would work. It DID! I was able to completely restructure a badly put together website (originally done with GoLive CyberStudio) in a week and a half. The clients are raving that it's more professional looking and much faster. Such is my enthusiasm for HTML, I am now voraciously purchasing more advanced books to expand on this book's foundation. It you want a clear, logical, comprehensive base, this book will do the trick. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because a syntax error on page 186 resulted in about 3 hours of frustration/wasted time.

Dick Oliver has written a masterpiece in thie informative, information packed HTML programming guide. It presents the steps to HTML programming in a concise, easy to follow, step by step way. The book starts with the basics of HTML and gradually works up to advanced applications. It is a must have for anyone who wants to start out in HTML programming. I read through it, and I created my first web site, using my knowlege from the book.

It works!, August 14, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Teach Yourself Html 3.2 in 24 Hours (Sams Teach Yourself) (Paperback)
This book was very good helping me to start a web page. It does not go beyond basic HTML though, and I was hoping there would be more advanced HTML by the time I was at the end. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to learn HTML, but not to someone wanting a supplement to a beginning book or advanced HTML. You should have Paint Shop Pro because a lot of his examples with graphics use this program. It is shareware right now...so don't let that hinder you from buying it
