Teach Yourself Italian Conversation is useful but not as much fun as the Teach Yourself Italian course. The Conversation course follows a British couple as they vacation in Italy and charge purchases on their credit card. The conversations are somewhat formal and stilted, but the British narrator does interject some useful points about basic grammar. The first two CDs contain situational dialogues----getting a taxi, booking reservations, buying wine, etc. The third CD is the most interesting. Here you listen to entire dialogues three times, each time trying to pick out two specific bits of information. The purpose is to sharpen one's listening skills by focusing on key words rather than trying to understand every single word.

This product is fantastic! The conversations are well presented and the wait time for responses is adequate; the booklet that accompanies the C/D's is very helpful.
