Sams Teach Yourself Microsoft Office 10 in 24 Hours is written by an expert in the field who is familiar with what actual users need to know about Office. The reader may work his way through the entire book at his own pace, or dip into specific lessons or tasks that solve an immediate question or problem.

Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Launched in October, Windows XP is Microsoft's first operating system to incorporate elements of its .NET initiative. The Office Suite marketed alongside it includes Word, Outlook, Access, Excel, FrontPage, PowerPoint, and a new entry, Publisher. Step by Step is the only title that covers Publisher. Otherwise, these books contain roughly the same material, use similar approaches, and are written for beginning to intermediate users. Purchase according to your patrons' preferences. A full-color book with a nice mix of text and screenshots, Step by Step is excellent for apprehensive users.

Review

"Clear in language, the book proves to be valuable and compared with a formal course, the price isn't that bad either." ComputerActive, August 2001 "For less than 15 pounds you're getting a great teacher at a bargain price although it'll probably take you more than 24 hours to finish."PC Basics, September 2001

4.0 out of 5 stars This book shows the Speedy Way to Upgrade to Office XP, July 25, 2001

This review is from: Sams Teach Yourself Microsoft Office XP in 24 Hours (Paperback)
Being a part of an educational institute, I recommended this book for our students. I found this to be a very comprehensive reference book, which has been nicely organized so that even if one doesnt want to read it cover to cover, they can still access the exact information that they need in a speedy way. The books has self explanatory pictures and diagrams making it interesting and easy to follow. Teh Q&A's at the end of the chapters are also good from the self assesment point of view as well as for the instructors reference. I cant find anything negative to say about this book except for one small thing: this book is ideally suited for users already familiar with the previous office suite. However, novices may find the content of this book a little more than can be covered in 24 hours. Everything else, the print, the organization and the content is excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm so tired of over-written tomes... THIS is perfect, February 29, 2004

Just the right length. One hour a day for 3 or so weeks and I've mastered the ins and outs of Office XP.

I read Perry's humor between the lines. He's not only smart, he is witty.

If you've used Office in the past and want to learn the most VALUABLE skills, you need this book.
