5.0 out of 5 stars Good for introductory Spanish students., November 1, 2005

I found this book to be extremely helpful when I was learning Spanish on my own. It has 200 model verbs, and an index of hundreds of additional verbs that are referenced to the appropriate model verb. The format is easier to use than the popular "501 Spanish Verbs" book. And it has more usage examples than that book does. I especially recommend this book for self-learners and students in their first two years of high school or college spanish. I continue to use it as a convenient reference on Spanish verb conjugations.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good, December 30, 2008
it is laid out very well. I really like at the bottom of the pages it gives common phrases and other things that the verb is usually used in. for example- freír means to fry at the bottom it also gives some things such as la freidera-frying pan la fritada- fried dish frito/a-fried

in my opinion it is easier to use than 501 Spanish Verbs. Also, at the beginning it tells when to use each verb tense, and the conjugations for normal verbs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best conjugation book out there., March 21, 2011
This is simply the best book to buy for Spanish verb conjugations. Unlike the bulky "501 Spanish verbs" book, this book instead takes a much more useful and smarter approach. Basically, it gives you a list of about 200 of the most common Spanish verbs, fully conjugated, with several different example sentences for each verb. These 200 verbs are then used as the basis for the conjugations of the further 3,000 or so verbs they list at the back of the book, each with their most common meanings. What you do is, when looking up the conjugation for a verb that isn't in the list of the fully-conjugated list of 200 verbs, you refer to the back of the book to find your verb and the book then gives you a number of one of the 200 verbs which is conjugated like the verb you wish to conjugate. This is extremely helpful for not only space reasons, (the book is probably 1/3 of the size of the 501 Spanish verbs book) but also in that you start to notice patterns in the way certain verbs are conjugated. When I first saw the way this book was laid out, I couldn't help but buying it! I simply have never seen such a more well though-out conjugation book. You could probably just take a few weeks to work through memorizing the meanings of all the regular verbs they have listed and increase your vocabulary by tenfold since they're all conjugated the same and it lays them out in such an accessible manner. If you're serious about learning Spanish, this is going to be the book for you.
