I found this book useful as a general overview guide to Teaching Myself VISUALLY Microsoft Office 2007. The book did not go into details in any of the sections, and it did not deal with some of the minor or advanced sections of the COMPLETE Office 2007 program, however, I do recommend it as a reasonable investment to get a quick handle on the program. It greatly helps in the transition from the old format of Office which we had from 1997 through 2003, into the new 'ribbon' format. I recommend it, but do not expect that it will answer ALL of your questions, or solve all of your change-over aches and pains. However, because I strongly believe that NOW is the time to change to a new Office system, this book is well worth the money. Go for it!

This book is too general trying to crunch very basic how-to for the entire MS Office Suite. You will find better content and tips by purchasing each book that specializes each application separately (e.g., Teach Yourself Visually Excel, Teach Yourself Visually Word, Teach Yourself Visually Outlook, etc.)

This book works well when you have your application open and can match book page to your window screen! Glad I ordered the online pdf file with it! Makes it even handier -- no need to cart a book around!

Very informative. Good for new or experienced Office users. Recommend to help get started on Office 2007 as there are several updates in this edition. Handy to be able to refer to a book and it will walk you thru it step by step.

I have had trouble learning and understanding the ribbon set up in Microsoft Office 2007, but with this book I can readily find my answers and am begining to learn the new process and enjoying it.

The Visual series is the best for my right-brain way of thinking.

If you are new or very formiliar with office this is the only learning tool you will need to get started with office 2007.
It does not tell you how to run office it shows you witch is very easy to understand
very good learning tool.

I purchased this book as a way to help me get up to speed on Office 2007. I am not that computer savvy and I lost out on a job because of my poor computer skills. I thought this book might help with excel, power point, etc. It was too simplified in some respects. I found that I needed a lot more instruction than I was getting from this generalized book. I did like the visual style. I believe, it would have been better if I had purchased each manual separately rather than in one book like the Office 2007. For instance, I needed to brush up on "excel" so should have bought a book just for "excel".

I bought this book as a reference for my Update of Office 2007 software that I bought at Office Depot. If I had the time I would read and study the entire book, but it definitely serves me well, as a reference when I try to learn a way to use the new Office compared to my old Office software. Part of our one man shop, is that Microsoft has 10,000+ or more folks doing new software and yet I am one person trying to learn the latest, how to use the new icons and changes, that are constantly coming down the pike. I have my own spreadsheets, and word documnets, and every once in a while, I know how to do something with the old versions, yet not in the new versions. Hence the purpose for buying my reference books from Amazon.com. I like pictures, in color, and steps shown, and a good index is a must too. So the Amazons books I really like are:

Windows Vista Visual Encylopedia
Teach Yourself Visually Office 2007
Teach Yourself Visually Word 2007

If you don't have Vista or Office maybe you can do without these books, but in my case, they are excellent references for me.

This is great book for people who know the bare minimum when it comes to Microsoft Office. I purchased the book for the teachers I work with who basically know how to type up a Word document but don't know how to create a table or use ClipArt. I found the visuals and the bright colors really helped them follow the instructions without needed someone there to walk them through the process. It definitely made my life easier.
