The best present you could give yourself as a writer!, January 8, 2007
This review is from: Teach Yourself How to Write a Blockbuster (Teach Yourself (McGraw-Hill)) (Paperback)
If you buy one book on writing, buy this one, won't you? It is FANTASTIC!
Lee Weatherly and Helen Corner know their stuff and explain it so logically and their caring natures and personalities shine through. I am amazed they give so much away for the price of the book!
The exercises in the book have raised my level of writing ten fold. They have also given me wondrous treasures for the books I am currently writing. Thank you!
The layout of the book is so well done and full of riches, you can't put it down, greedy for the next gift.
Any level of writer will read, reread and refer to this book to ensure their highest levels of writing are maintained and that they walk into the industry, or proceed in it, informed.
WOW! Buy it!

Writing Made Easy, June 19, 2009
Read the book, done the exercises, subscriber to the business the author owns and 18 months later, still no closer to signing a publishing contract, however, it does make you see writing in a different light. Publishing is a very complex business and this book is really the tip of the iceberg. It is a fantastic start though. The author writes in plain English and she has a literacy consultancy to back up her book which offers conferences, workshops, reviews of your work, editorial reports, etc that can turn into representation, referrals to agents and then publishing. If you're keen to write a novel, a great book to get you started.

Surprisingly Great Writer's Guide, March 30, 2009
This review is from: Teach Yourself How to Write a Blockbuster (Teach Yourself (McGraw-Hill)) (Paperback)
How to Writer A Blockbuster is one of the best writer's guide books I've ever read. It covers everything, from beginning your novel to publishing it. It contains a lot of prompts and examples as well, and both the prompts and the examples are great. The author points out some of the most common problems fiction writer's make, and shows them how to fix these mistakes.
I also found this book a joy to read. Everything is straightforward. There's nothing lacking in How to Write a Blockbuster.
