4.0 out of 5 stars The Teacher from the Black Lagon March 4, 2002
A Kid's Review
Format:Paperback
The Teacher from the Black Lagoon

Mike Thaler wrote the book The Teacher from the Black Lagoon. Jared Lee did the all of the wonderful pictures. It was published by Scholastic books. The book is 29 pages long and I would recemend it for 6-8 year olds.It might be a little to hard for kids under 6 and to easy for kids older then 8.The little boy is afraid of who he would get for his teacher because it is the first day of school. The boy falls asleep and starts to dream about something.(YOU WILL FIND OUT IN THE BOOK)Then the bell rings and he wakes up. My favorite part is when he was deaming because it was telling what he thought his day would be like.I was afraid who I ould get for my teacher. I think they should of put in how the rest of the year went. And I ...loved this book and you would too!

I'm surprised by the other more recent reviews on this one... I read it to my class, and they LOVED IT! I can't wait to get the entire set, so that they can read more about the lovely imaginations of the "Black Lagoon" series. Great illustrations, vocabulary, and descriptive imagery!!! Definitely a keeper!
