I highly recommend this downloadable e-book and Cd-rom, "Teaching Art in Elementary Education" By Sean Taeschner @2003. This book describes several ways to teach Elementary School children basic methods to being a great artist and in creating memorable Masterpieces, that any child and parent can be proud to look at.
By learning not only to create masterpieces hands on but teaches in a basic instruction how to use vocabulary through senses to gather information by critiquing art works through communication in expressing individual ideas that responds to art and feelings and the different emotions. By reading about the lives of the master painters to apply art to daily life i.e. history, culture.
I came across this Cd-rom while as an Interpreter I was working with a Psychologist /Special Education Teacher using this through a project to Strengthen Our community through Excellence in Education also a Special Education Teacher used this basic book to open up the hearts and minds of many children through communication.
I used it with my ten-year-old son on a couple of snow days we had, it was a great project.
I recommend reading this e-book and cd-rom for anyone who works with children.

If you are looking for a book with lots of lesson ideas this is not the book for you. There are only about 3 lessons included on a cd-r burned disk. This was my first digital book purchase so maybe I was expecting too much. I found a few ideas or tips while reading the word documents but there were a few pictures and documents on the disk that seemed like scattered after thoughts and did not flow with the idea behind the book. If I would have known what was (or was not) on the disk I probably wouldn't have bought it. Again, this is just my opinion.

I enjoy Sean's comic cartooning. He reminds me of those authors in the 50's who came up with shows for TV such as "The Green Hornet", "Superman", etc. He seems like the kind of author once influenced as a child by shows such as "Batman" or "The Munsters" or something (I bet he even watched a lot of "Leave it to Beaver" shows). Sean seems like the kind of guy who would wrap a long chain around the axle of a police car and attach it to a telephone pole, then run across the street completely
nude to attract their attention so they drop the donut they're eating and start their pursuit-thus ripping the axle clean from their car! Hey Sean-how about a book on how to build projectile launchers using your can of "Aquanet" hairspray or something!
Have you EVER built a "dogfood saucecube" launcher?-H. Milktoast
