An easy-to-follow guide for identifying the best method to teach biblical wisdom. This book is listed on a reading list for those interested in leading mission studies. I have referred to Bracke's book many times as I prepare mission studies and Sunday school lessons.

The first chapter on how the brain works -- and the real-life implications thereof for how we learn -- is alone worth the price of the book. Solid science, and understandable explanations. Some parts are a little more dense than others, but this is a book that a can function like a reference book -- i.e., one could profitably return to it multiple times over the years. It is helpful reading not only for those who teach the Bible in the church but for ministers interested in shaping sermons that authentically interpret and communicate the meaning of scripture. Contains some very practical examples of how to shape Bible study that is critically sound, spiritually solid and fully engaging for people of various ages.

Book discusses methods of teaching; how we teach, why we teach, and how we learn. Christian educators should read this book. I read it for a class with the same topic in seminary. book is not so lofty in terminology that non seminarians can't follow it. I recommend this book for Sunday school teachers and Bible study teachers as well as pastors.

Provided useful information for preachers and teachers of all ages. This will be a useful reference for me, not just a read and shelve textbook.
