These are things I said teaching high school to help clarify the ideas to the students. This will help students to think better and clearer, to enjoy school and to be happy, to do better on tests and to get better grades, and to be more successful in life. Teachers can read this to get ideas how to better teach and to relate to the students. There is nothing as exciting as working with young minds! It is organized like a Help file, with table of contents, topics and subtopics, and index. One can jump to any topic and read it. It is not like a heavy book that one must read everything.

The author, an outstanding teacher and physicist, has a deep understanding that goes beyond the "tricky dog" Power Point mindset dominating educational thinking today. His book serves as an excellent tonic for removing many of the cobwebs of bad thinking predominant in American public education. I highly recommend this book to all educators who want to clear out some of their own conceptual cobwebs, post haste.

Mr. Aranoff is a jackanapes. He writes reviews about others' books that he has never read by making gross ASSumptions based upon anonymous reviews he has read rather than his own reading of the book. This is sloppy and lazy science. Students will be able to think and do better than Mr. Aranoff if they simply read the material in question themselves, a point that Mr. Aranoff seems to miss in real life.

I would suggest this book to all math ed students - there are many things that are very useful for beginner teachers - things we learn with time and call it exparience, but then think - wish I known that earlier...
