Finger on the Pulse of Education and Technology, January 27, 2005
This review is from: Teaching and Learning with Technology: Learning Where to Look (Digital Learning Series) (Paperback)
Mr. Kravitz has a firm grasp on how best to use technology in the classroom. I used to teach, and I've worked with many, many teachers who were either too afraid or too ignorant of technology to put it to good use to further their pedagogical ends. I'm also worked with teachers who used computers in the classroom as a bandaid, a distraction, or an excuse not to teach that day while their kids play video games. Kravitz carefully examines some of the best opportunities to mix technology with education, and the result is clearly greater than the sum of its parts. Whether you know a lot about computers or don't even know how to turn one on, this book will open your mind to fresh, new ideas. I recommend this book to any teacher interested in applying current technology in the classroom, and to any tech person interested in learning how they could use their powers for good.

My first book ... you should buy it!, July 23, 2004
This review is from: Teaching and Learning with Technology: Learning Where to Look (Digital Learning Series) (Paperback)
I wrote the book, so I can't really review it. But I would love to hear from anyone who has read it ... hop over to my home page at www.threebase.com and use the "Contact Us" link to let me know what you think.
Honestly, I think my book is pretty well written and will be of interest to educators and anyone with an interest in how technology fits into education. While it's impossible to write a book on this topic that won't feel somewhat outdated almost as soon as it's finished, I tried to balance timely, specific information with a historical and philosophical perspective on how digital technologies are shaping our world.
Check it out ... pass it on to a friend or colleague who might be interested. And let me know what you think. Thanks!
