Book Description

“Teaching Oral Disease Prevention. 11 of 12” is the eleventh in a series of twelve How Do I Look After My Kids Teeth?, Amazon Kindle, eBooks written by retired dentist Dr. Garth Pettit, Author, Oral Health Care Educator to fulfil a mission he began in 1996, Prevent Oral Diseases in Children..

The author’s research led him to put the oral hygiene instruction Brush Your Teeth to a SWOT analysis which indicated the instruction does not clean the entire mouth of unwanted debris, nor leave the whole mouth protected against oral diseases and therefore could be a cause of oral diseases. He created the instruction, Treat Your Mouth, later changed the name to Treat Your Whole Mouth and more recently changed it to Paint Your Mouth....because children became thrilled and excited by the thought and wanted to ‘paint your mouth’.

Each of these eBooks is an oral health care education resource children themselves can read and understand but preferably teaching oral health and teaching oral disease prevention is best achieved with supervision by parents and, or educators.

In this eleventh eBook of the twelve book series this is what children will learn:

How To Paint Your Mouth provides detailed oral hygiene instructions on exactly how to 'paint your mouth', beginning with the 'why' of the operation and moving to when and where to do so.

This isn't a repeat of the first book: its instructions offer more depth and detail and provides step-by-step direction, and it re-identifies the nature of the tooth brush and helps kids identify whether a brush is too big, too small, or just right.

Tooth paste is changed to 'mouth paint' and the colorful plastic models of the mouth are used to teach the positions and names of adult teeth, the concept of 'quadrants', and much more.

There's a lot of information in this lesson, which offers step-by-step instruction on how to brush and paint the different kinds of teeth surfaces in a more effective manner.

Thirteen specific steps are reinforced by play time activities accompanied by the admonition to never rinse the mouth with water after surface painting.

By painting the whole mouth, kids create a layer of helpful plaque filled with helpful X. Y. Z’s. Special cleaning tips are reinforced by fun concluding chapters in this winning presentation, which is filled with information kids and parents will want to review numerous times.

“Teaching Oral Disease Prevention. 11 of 12” is another fun-filled lesson for children’s oral health education and oral disease prevention.

More About the Author

I have been an Oral Health Care Educator since 1996 the year, five years after I had been retired from private dental practices, I created this Mission: Prevent Oral Disease in Children.
In January 1997, to research for the books I intended to write , I accepted a Government position where I would be involved with chidren, parents, teachers and schools. With a short break this continued in two other locations until I again retired in late 2010.
I am the creator of the oral hygiene instruction Paint Your Mouth, a preventative instruction far superior to Brush Your Teeth.
My books that teaching oral disease prevention span many ages: from books that teach 14 Week Foetus, to Toddlers, to 5 to 12 year olds, to teenagers, adults and through to Golden Oldies.
They are currently, January 2014, under the micrscope of an Education Minister and of University Dental Researchers. The omens are looking good. Please keep checking here.
