Editorial Reviews

Review

Discussions of the nature of science, of the problems of organising group work, and of the principles and practicalities of formative assessment are strengths which other books do not rival...it is to be hoped that others can follow her example in being willing to keep on thinking and learning. This book will give a clear basis for such endeavours.' The Times Educational Supplement --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great classroom scenes, August 4, 2009
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book has some excellent classroom vignettes to read and discuss with preservice teachers. For inservice teachers the scenes might be a place to start with ideas for teaching.

The second chapter goes into a lot of detail about how the British curriculum came to be, while this has strong parallels with US curriculum development it might be a chapter for skimming rather than

studying. Overall Wynn Harlen's publications are very thought provoking and have great depth of thinking.
