Great book, but beware of publisher defect - missing pages,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Teaching Social Foundations of Education: Contexts, Theories, and Issues (Sociocultural, Political, and Historical Studies in Education) (Paperback)
This is an excellent book for faculty teaching social foundations aspects in any of their courses. I found the appendix of very detailed syllabi particularly helpful in my startup.
Beware, however, that AMAZON'S INVENTORY OF THIS TITLE CONTAINS A PUBLISHER DEFECT - nearly 30 pages missing (approx pp. 183-214). I exchanged a defective copy and the replacement that Amazon sent had the identical defect even though I specifically asked that they verify that the replacement copy contained those pages. When I returned both defective copies, Amazon tried to charge me S&H (original shipment and my return) for one book, but then credited me after I complained. Amazon seems to have lost the other return -- even though UPS tracking shows both books were delivered at the same time -- and have not responded to my queries. Knowing there are defective copies out there of this otherwise excellent book, I suggest that you purchase it from a vendor that either will verify ahead of time that their copy is not defective, or that has an easier return system. |
