5.0 out of 5 stars Good for Adults too, December 22, 2009

This review is from: Teaching for the Two-Sided Mind (Touchstone Books) (Paperback)
Sir Ken Robinson talks about how current education "stripmines" the minds of our youth. While I wholeheartedly agree with him about the need to change this, I also think we need to find ways to reclaim those older minds who have gone through this system and are now stuck in a changing world, in dire need of those skills that were not developed earlier. For both scenarios, I recommend this book. It is an excellent book for the teacher and the adult learner. Instead of trying to divide people into left and right brain thinkers (which really doesn't have much validity according to neurological studies), Williams comes from the angle that we are ALL left and right brain thinkers. Not only can this book help you refine how you learn information and analyze problems, it also invites you to try other ways of learning. You will be surprised at how much you actually do use both sides of your brain.

5.0 out of 5 stars It is a home school teachers dream..., February 23, 2005
After learning that my child had many learning disabilites I read this book. Not only with the suggestions she provides in this book have been helpful but the over all experience of reading this book has been easy. Now my son and I have a much better "teaching" relationship and things seem to run more smoothly. He also retains information I now teach him becuase of the tools this book provides. I just love this book.

Williams gives an abundance of resourceful ideas to teachers of all levels. Easy to use tomorrow kind of ideas which seem to be lacking in public schools. If you are interested in reaching more of the brain's potential in your students - read this!

We bought the book and look at the teaching methodolgies in details. There are 4 key points which we find it very revelant in today's schools. Suitable for Grade1-6. We welcome readers of this book to share their thoughts with us.
