The book, a Teacup Full of Roses, was basically talking about a black strong family who was struggling but worked very hard to get what they wanted. The mother, Mattie cared a lot about her son, Paul who does drugs. David, the youngest brother was very smart and Joe was very determined and hard working. I think the book Teacup Full Of Roses is a good book it puts you in the spot of a black family that doesn't make enough to get the things they want but still strive to get what they can. This book also shows how teens face every day problems if its either in the streets at home or even in school. The main characters in this book are Mom, Dad, Joe, Davey, Paul and his...

A Teacup Full of Roses was a book based on family. The main characters in te book were the Mom, Dad, Joe, Davey, Paul and his girlfriend.

The book "Teacup Full of Roses is a good book to read. The author of the book is SharonBell Mathis. The family in the book never communicated, that is why they have so many problems.
Paul is a family member that has a problem. He is addicted to heroin. All of his family say that he has a gift. The gift that he was is that he could draw pictures that could come alive. From the looks of it the only person his mom love is paul. He has other brothers like Joe. Joe has a gift too, he can come up with some wonderfull short stories.Davey is another brother of Paul's and his gift is that he can play basketball like a pro.
I really loved this story. There was an sad ending but i am not going to tell you. You have to read the book to find out.I would really recomend this book to everyone

4.0 out of 5 stars How family plays a key roles in our success and/or failure, February 3, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Teacup Full of Roses (Paperback)
I remembered reading this book as a teenager and how it helped me to understand just how much family plays a key role in molding us as individuals. I recommend this book to young readers who might feel as though their particular situation is unique and beyond a solution.

My favorite character is Joe because i see my self a lot like him. I have two younger brothers that look up to me and i think its my job to help them in anyway i can. But taking care of my bothers that aren't angels and having problems in school and also at home at times i just feel like leaving the planet. But like Joe i stay focused and control my self.

This review is from: Teacup Full of Roses (Hardcover)
This is a summary about "Teacup Full of Roses" this is a good book that I enjoyed . I would recommened this book to other people to read especially teenager because it talks about the problems teenagers deal with today. It talks about the help teenagers get when they are going through tough situations.

My favorite characters in the book "Teacup Full of Roses" is Joseph Matthew. The reason why I said this was my favorite character was because he was determined to make Davey become the person their mother be talking about. My least favorite character is the father because when Paul came back home the father didn't really cared for him. He kept reminding Paul about drugs.

The lesson teenagers can learn is they should not let drugs come into their life because drugs can take over your life. Then you will not be able to become what you want to be. So if you would like to achieve your dreams do not do drugs.

This is a book review on "A Teacup Full Of Roses." "A Teacup Full Of Roses" is a fundamental
book about a mighty strong black family, who is struggling to stay off the streets. This family is
very impenetrable for what they need to stay on track. The mother of the family is very concerned
about her son, Paul. Paul was a very intelligent kid that stayed in school but turned to drugs
instead of an education. Davie the youngest brother who is also very smart stayed in school and
will get a scholarship to college. Paul's other brother Joe was the most intelligent of all his
brothers. He stayed on track and never gave up. There father lived with them but wasn't' really
that close with his kids. My favorite character in "A Teacup Full Of Roses" is Joe. I think he is
very responsible, stood up to his responsibilities, and I like the way he handles situations. I
recommend this book to adults and young adults, because this book can teach everyone

responsibilities and what can happened if you don't get an education.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a part of who i am, August 7, 2009

This review is from: Teacup Full of Roses (Puffin story books) (Paperback)
I see the first publication of this book was in 1972. I read it in 1979 and I had put this story in my mental rolodex. Until 2004 something happened and I realized the situation I was experiencing was like something I had heard or seen in . Immediatley I thought of this book. I don't know why this book has stayed with me. It is a great book and should be in your personal library.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hidden Treasure, December 7, 2005

I am an 8th grade teacher and I read this novel with my 8th grade students and they loved it; so did I!! Initially, I wasn't too thrilled about the text because of the cover, but once I began reading the book I couldn't put it down. Many students were very interested in the book and proceded to read ahead of the class. The book deals with real-life problems that many teens and families face today. I honestly believe that any teenager or adult for that matter could benefit from this story. At the end of the story, I had my students change the ending and create other creative work for the book and they did a phenomenal job. I am glad that I decided to expose my students to this novel.
