...all I ask is that you're a woman,
By Alexander Stroud "nurse decapitator" (Port Orchard, Washington United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Team America: World Police (Mcup) (Audio CD)
Team Amercia: World Police is easily the best and funniest soundtrack of the year. Trey is the master at making fun of everything and anything, and making fun of these typical action movie power ballads and cheesy anthems is some of his best work. My only complaint is this soundtrack does not include the final Kim Jong Il song played during the end credits, 'You Are Worfress Arrec Barrwin'. But other than that, this is one of the most hillarious and catchy soundtracks ever. Pick it up today. Now we just have to wait for the DVD, which will have the unrated sex scene (including golden showers and other scary sexual situations). Team America... F*ck Yeah!
PS. In response to the Nov. 02, 2004 reviewer, T.S. Hunter. There is a Cannibal! The Musical soundtrack available at CrapTV.com. I believe it is around $14.99.

Fantastic,

I finally bought the soundtrack today (SO disappointed that it wasn't out when I went to buy it the day after I saw the film). And it made me laugh over and over again, as I'm sure it will continue to. These songs are absolute GENIUS! Could these guys be any more clever? The only diappointment I had is that the "You're Worthless Alec Baldwin" song that was all the way at the end of the end of the end credits of the movie didn't make the soundtrack either, cuz its freaking hilarious.

Come on everybody, we got quilting to do!,

The songs from Team America are absolutely hilarious. But they only take up 19 minutes of this 47 minute soundtrack. The rest of the soundtrack features the instrumental score, which isn't all that interesting to listen to. But it's still worth getting the CD just to get the songs.

Worth Buying for the Extra Lyrics,
By
This review is from: Team America: World Police (Mcup) (Audio CD)
I've been listening to this soundtrack since I saw the movie in the theater, and it's still absolutely hilarious. Most of the songs were shortened for the film, but here we have extended versions with extra lyrics that you can't miss. I was surprised to find that some of the funniest lines are not in the movie. Check out the full versions of "Freedom Isn't Free," "America, F--- Yeah!" and "Only a Woman."
There are a few parody tracks of action movie scores that aren't very interesting. However, the comedy tracks make this disc well worth the price. I love this soundtrack just as much as (or maybe even more than) the movie.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This is one of those CD's the reviewer is forced to wave his hands and just say buy it. I've don't know how many times I've listened to it since I purchased it, but it is amazingly funny. Why this movie wasn't a hit continues to astonish me (everyone who I have talked to who has seen it, loved it) -- though it might do very well indeed in DVD format. Many of the songs should be nominated for academy awards, but the PC weenies will certainly make sure they aren't
Note: do not buy this if you are language sensitive. This is not a joke. Many of the songs are as adult as it gets, though some of them (e.g. "Montage" (recycled from one of the South Park episodes) and "I'm so Ronery") are G-rated. Very nice score overall, too.

This is so funny,

Team America: World Police was undoubtedly the funniest movie of the year. The soundtrack had a large part to do with that because of songs like "Everyone's God AIDS" and "America F*** YEAH!" This is a great soundtrack that pumps everyone up and gets us involved in our country!

Put in your buck oh five and get this album!,

The funniest film of 2004 now has the funniest movie soundtrack of 2004. Most of the songs heard in the movie (with the exception of the side-splitting end credit ballad "You're Worfress, Arrec Bardwin") are on the album in full profane glory. From the show-stopping Rent bastardization "Everyone Has Aids" to the flag waving "Freedom Isn't Free," Trey Parker's musical genius reaches heights not seen since "Blame Canada" from the South Park movie. Even the orchestrations are OK.
My only gripe is there aren't lyrics included to sing along to "End of An Act," "Only a Woman," and "America, F--- Yeah." Other than that, it's a gleeful, pee-your-pants funny, CD. Definitely recommended for Parker and Stone fans.

Very disappointing,

I pre-ordered this without even seeing the playlist. Because hey, I couldn't live without "Everyone Has AIDS" and "Pearl Harbor Sucked and I Miss You," which will surely become timeless tracks that our grandchildren jitterbug to.
But I had been hoping that it would be like the South Park album, with some creative variations by other artists that weren't on the movie. But there aren't. In fact half of the album are instrumentals that are really just filler movie stock but I guess have to be there because otherwise the album would be embarassingly short. Another major disappointment was that the "I hate you Alec Baldwin" song from the very end of the credits (yes, there are rewards for sitting to the very end!) was not on the album.

Far and away the best soundtrack thus far this century...,

In terms of soundtracks, Trey Parker is, and always has been, somewhat of a virtuoso. His apparent love/hate relationship with musical theatre has been a recurring theme in pretty much every motion picture he has been a part of. This album is no exception.
Highlights include "Dirka Dirk (Terrorist Theme)", which is a blatant shot at John Williams' "Cantina Theme" from Star Wars E. IV, "Montage", an all-too charasmatic rip on 80's movies like "Better Off Dead", or any other 80's movie involving an underdog sports team, and, perhaps most notably, "America: F**k Yeah! (Bummer Remix)", which does what composers like Angelo Badlamenti and the more obscure Tomandandy do symphonically, with hilarious vocal qualities that make one wish the song was longer than 55 seconds. All in all, this is a quality soundtrack to a quality movie, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys not only good comedy, but a genuinely good orchestral track that will make you laugh just the same. A must-have for fans of the genre, as well as fans of the whole South Park movement.

Parker and Shaiman are the masters of satirical songwriting!,
By
This review is from: Team America: World Police (Mcup) (Audio CD)
With this soundtrack, Trey Parker once again proves his musical talent is nothing short of genius. As a huge fan of the South Park movie, I was skeptical as to whether Shaiman and Parker could duplicate the brilliant music and songwriting that made SP:BLU such as a feast for the ears. Every song on this soundtrack is hilarious, catchy and provacative. Trey Parker's love of musicals really shines through in his work. My favorite songs are "I'm So Ronery", which has a gorgeous, orchestral melody and "Freedom Isn't Free" which illustrates Parker's amazing vocal abilities. Parker is quite possibly the best parody songwriter in show business. He is an incredible talent with an amazing ear for music. I recommend this album to anyone who enjoys well-written, funny stuff.
