TeamBuddies kicks butt,

I've played a preview disk which a friend 'borrowed' from a friend and we played the game in one, two and four player modes. First off, the whole feel of the game is colourful and fun. At first it was easy to get a simple weapon and shoot til someone won, but then we started to find that there was much more to it. Different strategies could be employed depending on opposing strategies and it soon became a battle of wits as much as pure brutality ! One or two of us found the interface a little frustrating - giving orders to team members, controlling awkward vehicles etc, but I found this pretty easy to pick up and was soon whooping there butts ! Games that sprung to mind are Bomberman, Tetris (the crate stacking element) and even C&C, although it's not a 'God' game to the same extent as you're involved much closer to the action. The fighting became manic and everyone got totally carried away with it, even though the preview disk only had 4 levels on it, only 2 of which worked on 4player mode. I think the final game has 32 basic levels although I've heard there are 64, plus some secret levels. I can't wait 'til it's out.

This game is awesome. I only have the demo, and i already like it!!! The object is to build things by crates, like teammates, weapons, and other cool stuff. If you're looking for a really good action game, you just found one.

It's fast, furious, explosive yet harmless arcade fun! Control an army of insane inflatable soldiers, with a superb game wechanic and stack the crates for bigger toys. With the biggest range of weapons, vehicles, power-ups and characters i've ever seen. There are eight games worlds to conquer, with over 64 game maps to complete and discover. It has probably the most advanced game engine yet produced on the playstation. In all i cannot fault it. You become lost in the action and time flies by before being told off by your girlfriend for loving a machine.

I love this game, from the different "buddies" you can choose from to the whole crate building idea. I know this game came out along time ago but I hope the make another one.

This game can be a bit challanging but it's not that hard. Really chaotic which makes it great. Build buddies, guns, vehicles of all sorts. If you have a multi-adaptor for 4 player and friends to play then your all set. This game is a master piece and worth buying. The only thing that I must say as a downfall is that it's hard to attain except through online which most places charge an arm and a leg like $70 which no game is worth. But if you find it for a cheaper price somewhere buy it! It's worth it and will last hours for fun.

When Tic-Tacs Turn Bad,
By Sean (Dublin) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Team Buddies (Video Game)
Something that the other reviewers fail to mention is that this game is hard. A drunken Stone Cold Steve Austin hard. Level one (of 64) took me about an hour to complete! The enemy AI is so aggressive that any attempts to attack their base is met with extreme prejudice, and simply trying to kill one enemy soldier is an enormous task. Something that bothered me was that in multiplayer mode, the two (or 3/4) opposing teams begin right beside each other unlike, say, Starcraft where you can assemble an army hidden away and then send them out to attack. The temptation to start a melee from the offset just turns into a mindless bloodbath. Another point worth making is that your little Tic-Tac shaped combatants swear like sailors. People from the U.S. may not be able to decipher the broad Glaswegian and Geordie accents turning the air blue with comments. I certainly can and personally I think it adds to the game no end. Just note that despite its cartoonish appearance, it may offend your granny. So if you don't have a lot of patience, or if you have an extensive game collection, you might tire of Team Buddies due to it's merciless difficulty.
