5.0 out of 5 stars The best I've seen.
This book was exactly what I was looking for to build teams with my middle schoolers. Many activities would also be useful with high schoolers or adults. I have a lot of the traditional games and team building activity books, but none were as well arranged or easy to use. Activities that use few or no props or items that are easy to find are what work best for me...

3.0 out of 5 stars Groups, not teams
I was looking for a book to provide team-building, but this book has more group familiarization activities. The activities seem to provide strangers the opportunity to get to know each other. For managers trying to provide team-building activites, I reccommend Quick Teambuilding Activities for Busy Managers: 50 Exercises That Get Results in Just 15 Minutes by Brian Cole...

4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant Surprise, March 16, 2001

I did not have high expectations when I purchased this book. I honestly had hoped to discover at least three "keeper" activities. What a pleasant surprise. I have already used more than three solid activities and I have several more I plan on using in the near future. The downside: the descriptions lack the style of Karl Rohnke and there are no illustrations or diagrams. On the plus side: the descriptions are clear and understandable and the price is a bargain compared to other activity focused books. Whether you are an experienced facilitator or someone looking for your first resource book, this selection is a terrific value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Team-Building Games, January 28, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Team-Building Activities for Every Group (Paperback)
What a great book! I am a high school teacher, and I'm not only trying to teach my students about literature and grammar, but also about teamwork, cooperation, and communication skills. This book has lots of activities that are divided into 4 levels from learning peoples' names to really opening up and sharing personal stuff. The instructions are easy to understand, and most require little preparation and supplies that you usually have around (pens, paper, tape, chairs, etc.) The book is well-organized beyond the 4 activity levels as well; for each game, the author clearly states the objective, the needed materials, instructions, and variations on the activities. For the second two levels, she also includes excellent discussion questions. It seems to me that these activities would really work with ANY group. Well worth the investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for High School Counselilng!, July 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Team-Building Activities for Every Group (Paperback)
I found this book the most creative of Alanna Jone's 3 team building activity books, although all have great ideas for working with groups of high school students. Although many activites were designed for team building, goal setting, etc., I was able to easily adapt them to other areas such as building trust, expressing feelings, resiliency, etc. I guarantee your students will find groups much more meaningful and enjoyable with this active approach.

1.0 out of 5 stars You Must Be Young to Have a Use for This Book, January 13, 2000
This review is from: Team-Building Activities for Every Group (Paperback)
This book does not contain any usefull team building exercises for adults. Building animals out of toliet paper tubes would not impress my management! I hate to say it but this book was a total disappointment. It *might* be O.K. for elementary/jr high students, but adults will have to look elsewhere!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book to use with leaders, youth, children, January 14, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Team-Building Activities for Every Group (Paperback)
I have been a camp leader for many years, and I found Team Building Activities for Every Group to be extremely helpful in building community with adult leaders as well as helping youth and children campers to really come together as a cohesive group by the end of their camp time. I especially appreciate the discussion prompts which help me debrief the activities with participants. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best team building book around, August 11, 1999

We used this book for a current company workshop and it was amazing. The team building activities helped the staff to learn more about each other in a very creative way. We had lots of fun and learned too. I highly recommend this book for any company looking for great team activities.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good stuff!, March 4, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Team-Building Activities for Every Group (Paperback)
Good book with good activities. Some are more involved than others and require some hefty prep and set up (if that's a problem, check out Miller's Quick Teambuilding Activities book, it's similar, but only has short, quick activities for when you are on a time crunch). I especially liked the writing format here, easy to skim the activities and quickly grasp the essense so you can decide if this is the one you wanna use!

Not a bad book... it is easy to follow, very easily adapted to many different audiences and I cant wait to use it this summer. Activities are well organized and practical.

I am so pleased with this book, I am going to order more by Alanna Jones.
