Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

With Team Fortress 2, you'll experience the thrill of battle while performing as part of a team or battle squadron. This approach more closely approximates real-life battle and enables new and experienced players to play together in a way that challenges each individual and enhances the overall experience.

When you first log on for a game, you'll be recruited immediately by a team and cast in one of nine roles, or character classes, such as medic, spy, or even the machine gun-toting heavy infantryman. Once you join a team and pick a class, you'll function in that class as part of the team, working together to complete any number of map-specific objectives. The success of your team depends not just on the skill levels of each individual, but on your squad's cohesiveness and team play.

The map objectives range from traditional capture-the-flag styles of play to spy missions and beyond, including complex missions similar to those found in real-time strategy games.

Team Fortress 2 builds on the technology advancements that first appeared in Half-Life. For example, while Half-Life was the first game to use skeletal animation for realistic character movement, Team Fortress 2 pushes the envelope with parametric animation. This technology gives characters completely lifelike moves, such as heads that turn in the direction they are looking and leg strides that adjust depending on stance and condition.

This entry for Team Fortress 2 was for the original Brotherhood of Arms version that was never released. Check out Team Fortress 2 PC, The Orange Box PC, The Orange Box Xbox 360, or The Orange Box PS3 for the final 2007 release.

This game is not out yet. Anyone who claims to have played it is either lying or somehow managed to play an incomplete, still-in-development version that is not at all indicitave of what the final product will be. Until the game is actually SHIPPING, do not listen to any reviews dated prior to the shipping date, as they are all complete shams and/or mindless speculation.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Game Has Been Made, March 10, 2010

This review is from: Team Fortress 2 (CD-ROM)
In 2007 the Orange Box came out with Team Fortress 2 in it. It looks nothing like this, so just look up Team Fortress 2 and you should find the right version of this game. It's a great game with one of the best communities on steam, so I highly suggest you pick it up. I'm putting a link below to the blog for the real game, and I'm sorry for anyone who wanted the game to of came out looking like that.
