An eerie study of what drives (or allows) people to kill in a team setting, even when they had no criminal history on their own.

This review is from: Team Killers - A Comparative Study of Collaborative Killers (Paperback)
This was such a great book; while Jennifer Furio lets all the killers do the talking, in this she actually lets us in, so that when we read about the people we've come to know in her books, we get the scoop on her own life, working and even intimating with these men and women...it is so scary; still, she brings this humanity to even this genre! I find myself confused, when I read about how she feels bad for a man who cuts off a woman's breast, yet when she explains her rationale, how she sits on her porch in the cold and listens to this mentally retarded man, the reader begins to ask her questions: DOES he know what he's actually done? WILL anyone get him away from execution or just an evaluation? Will anyone think that maybe he could lead to more bodies? Everytime she lets us in, and we see what she was up against, then at least I feel a greater respect. SHe's not an actress, and she doesn't write for Random or anything, but man, her books are history -- literally. Someday, I hope someone has the intuition to understand she's captured our era, in her own life, how these men and women operate, how it hurt her, her family, how it hurts universally...(...)
