Great machine. We did have the servo go, but Horizon Hobby stood behind it with ease. This is a well-balanced RC car. It provides awesome acceleration, great 4WD traction, low center of gravity for pretty tight turns and high ground clearance for making a smooth transition from pavement to grass/dirt/gravel. The included Lipo battery is another standout, holds its power for a solid 20+ minutes between charges. You really can't go wrong with this RC!

I have owned this monster truck for about 8 months now, and would estimate that I've spent about $500+ trying to keep it running. I've now given up and it sits on the shelf. For starters, both steering servos broke within 15 minutes of taking it out of the box (top marks for Horizon Hobby support though - they replaced both immediately, but of course I had to wait for them to ship). Search forums for mini lst2 steering servo, and you'll see that just about every owner has had these break within minutes. I then replaced them with an expensive single servo conversion from exotec, which worked great but cost me over $100 with the servo. I have broken numerous axles (probably about 8-10) - they are terribly weak. Also have broken A arms and front shock tower too (hit the curb at high speed, so that's not really a design flaw, more my fault). Next to go were the motors and the esc, followed by the centre diff and both front/rear differentials (search forums for this too and you will see they seem to be a VERY common fault). The spider gears in this thing are tiny and very fragile plastic. Generally speaking, the whole thing is just too weak, which I think is a scale design problem i.e. 1/18 is too small. I've since gone to 1/8 scale electric, and yes it's more expensive up front, but you spend waaaaaay less in the long run keeping it going. With the mini lst2 I think I remember running it a total of 3 battery packs in a row before something broke - and not from crashing either. That was my record. I hear the traxxas mini e revo is a better buy if you really want to go with this scale, but be warned, these little cars cost an awful lot to keep running - and if you're doing it for the kids, which I was, they get pretty disappointed along the way. I would never buy a Losi product again.

i purchased this for my 7 year old daughter so she could play with me and her brother. it comes with everything needed to get started... a battery, remote, car, and charger. the only thing you need are 8 AA batteries for the remote. for her it is perfect just the right amount of speed to keep up with our larger cars and easy to control. it is fast and did take a little time to get use to. this is small enough to play in the house as well as go offroad through grass and dirt. the first month a part did break which i was able to replace at my local hobby shop. i think $10 and i was able to replace myself. it was my fault, i was jumping off a ramp and landed wrong... oops! this is a hobby, parts will break... guarunteed! the good thing is this is a very popular manufacturer and replacement parts are easy to find at the local hobby shop or online.
