2.0 out of 5 stars More a pamphlet than a book, May 23, 1999

There are 14 2-page topics. If you know how to do them, then this would be a great reminder. If you don't know how to do them, the guidance is limited. This looks more like one of the handouts for a presentation or short course that the authors' company teaches.

Seriously disappointing.

This is a great book and a must read for all organizations making a change in this time of economic hardship. They say change is difficult. This book is a good reference for why making that change with a sense of urgency is important.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth your money, July 26, 2010
This review is from: Team Reconstruction: Building a High Performance Work Group During Change (Paperback)
This book is very short and promises that it talks about team reconstruction. The problem is that the "how" is missing. I read through this and found two of the chapters very useful, however, it is full of empty cheerleading (in my opinion). It does not focus that you need to build a solid foundation for a team and that the change for the team needs to be needed. You cannot make change for change sake and you cannot expect your team to follow you without trust and respect. The book really doesn't mention these principles. That said a couple of things in the book made sense 1) you need to ensure that the people that you want to keep are treated well as they'll be gone without you really knowing what hit you and 2) that you should take charge without being mean. Other than that, I did not find this book useful and is not a blueprint for change.
