4.0 out of 5 stars Quruli
I had the opportunity to see Quruli in America a few years ago and I was very impressed. Their sound combines a mix of retro power rock, electronica and punk to create a sound that not many American bands can master.

For those who know nothing about the band, the other review may not explain everything. The band is from Kyoto, Japan and is on Noise McCartney records...

I had the opportunity to see Quruli in America a few years ago and I was very impressed. Their sound combines a mix of retro power rock, electronica and punk to create a sound that not many American bands can master.

For those who know nothing about the band, the other review may not explain everything. The band is from Kyoto, Japan and is on Noise McCartney records. In 2002 they toured the US for the first time with the (now defunct) Dismemberment Plan. The "American drummer" they are referring to is Christopher MacGuire, an incredible musician who played with (among others) John Vanderslice. JV loves this band and has toured Japan with them; they even released his albums on their label in Japan.

The sound of the words alone is enough to convey their meaning, even if you don't speak Japanese.
