Great personal accounts,

This review is from: The Teams: An Oral History of the U.S. Navy Seals (Mass Market Paperback)
These autobiographies are well written, with some background info from the editors in between. They include accounts of plankowners from SEAL teams One and Two, as well as one from the interesting personality of James Janos, best known as Jesse 'the Body' Ventura, former pro wrestler and former governor of Minnesota.

Great book and well written. It gives you the fell of what it is like to leave a navy seals life. From the get go it shows everything from boot camp to Black ops. This is a true life account of the SEALs in action. Told by only the ones who did it!The men whose awesome courage under fire and breathtakingly unconventional combat techniques changed the way ground war will forever be waged.

I have read a couple books about the SEAls but I have to say this was the best yet. While reading it I could barly put it down because it was so action packed and it described what SEAL training is like and some of the missions SEALs went with great detail and enthusiasm. Over all I found this to be an exellent book

You Can Do Better Than That,
This review is from: The Teams: An Oral History of the U.S. Navy Seals (Mass Market Paperback)
When I pick up a book on the oral history of the Navy SEALs, I expect a book about the SEALs, or at least stories from SEALs. That is NOT what this book is. It is more a collection of stories from members of UDT as they were being phased out and SEALs were coming in, some of whom became SEALs, many of whom did not. It should have included more interviews from people who started with the SEALs, as well as those who switched to SEALs from UDT so as to present a more balanced approach to the story. At least, that is what I would have preferred to see. However, the book was by no means a failure. The stories of the men interviewed were well worth purchase price. But the book really could have focused more on the stories of SEALs as opposed to UDT.
