5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money
I bought this set of straps during our last move, hoping they might help out a little, if not provide some 'backup' while carrying my big-screen TV. They worked out MUCH better than I anticipated.

Moving the TV was a breeze. We slid the strap underneath the TV, then into the buckles, and stood up. That was it!

I was a bit torn on whether I liked this product or not. It does work, and is one of the cheaper and simpler of these types of products, but often more hassle than it is worth. When you get the furniture on the moving strap, and are on level ground, it is the simple case of balancing horizontally. Its a bit more complicated on stairs.

This strap was not helpful in an apt style staircase (what we moved out of), and only slightly better on a more spacious house staircase (what we moved into). It was not helpful with many types of furniture such as a dresser or bookshelf. We only found it useful to move our four couches, everything else we tried we ended up carrying ourselves. All and all I was willing to use it a lot more than the guy helping me, he didn't like it and so we didn't use it long. He has a tall slender frame, and found that the shoulder straps wanted to slip off constantly. Not so much when moving the furniture, but right before standing up to lift the furniture.

Because of the type of furniture this is useful for, you will only find yourself using it a couple times a move.

I would recommend this for ppl who are older or lack the strength needed to carry some furniture, move a LOT, and/or have a need to carry the furniture a decent distance on level ground. I would also recommend this for people with patience, as this will undoubtedly slow down your moving process. That is, of course, a small price to pay to avoid an injury.

I would also recommend two changes to the manufacturer. One, have another short setting. We found the shortest setting still too long for anything smaller than a small couch. Two, some easy way to tie up or secure the slack rope when the moving straps are on a short setting. Currently, it drags on the ground and is a MASSIVE tripping hazard.

I gave it 3 stars because it is good for some moving, and is reasonably priced. It lacks refinement, and the ability to be used on a variety of furniture items and moving environments.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Teamstrap is ok but not great., January 7, 2009

The Teamstrap is ok but not great. The biggest problem that I ran into is that the straps are not adjustable, so they were either too long or too short for moving most items. I would recommend a moving strap that is adjustable.

What really sold me was when we moved our queen mattress. The thing is around 100lbs. and a pain to carry as there is no good way to grab it. The straps made this SOOOO much easier. The mattress was still wobbly, but we didn't have to fight and strain to carry it.

My only real complaint is that the shoulder harnesses could be labeled for which direction to put on. That's it.

One thing to note...these won't work too terribly well for going up and down stairs. Sure, for the top person it'll be fine. But for the bottom person, since you're essentially tethered to the object you're carrying, it could get in the way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product!!, August 3, 2009

This is the best 20 bucks I spent in a while. I am a petite woman who would never think of lifting heavy furniture without professionals involved. My husband and I were able to move all the furniture and heavy boxes from our two-bedroom apartment all by ourselves. The strap length is a bit of a problem in some cases, but my husband found neat tricks to make it work. All in all, one of the easiest moves I have made in a decade.

Every year my Husband & I take our water cooler out of the window and carry to the garage for the winter. I am only 5'1 and struggle and dread it every year. This year I spotted this Moving Strap and it was awesome. It was a breeze with the straps and it went fast & smoothly this year. I am so glad I stumbled across the straps online.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll be amazed at what you can lift, April 27, 2011

This is a wonderful invention. I had a 72" granite top bathroom vanity we purchased from Costco and a cast iron claw foot tub delivered curbside. Both items are 400 lbs. Four of us (all men) tried picking up the vanity and didn't get very far. There wasn't much of an edge to the granite and no where to grab the vanity in the back as it was a solid smooth surface.

I googled moving aids and these things popped up. I thought they were too good to be true but for only $20 it was worth a shot.

The Teamstrap showed up in a couple days. I only had one son with me to try and move the vanity. We slipped the team strap under the vanity, fitted the harness so we only had to lift it a few inches off the ground, and viola! the vanity was on its way.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't easy but I was completely amazed that two of us could lift it. With our arms free, we were able to steady it as we moved along. There is no way I could lift 200 lbs if I had to bend over and pick it up. But with my back straight, and all the weight forced on my legs, the vanity came off the floor. We did the same thing moving our cast iron claw foot tub.

My wife was able to help me move a heavy water heater with these things and we're both in our 50s!

The best part of all this, no back pain the next day!

I'm completely sold on these nifty straps and have recommended them to friends.

3.0 out of 5 stars Know what you are moving, January 14, 2011

My buddy and I needed to move a SONY 200 pound tube HDTV from the basement to the second floor. Base upon the products available, Teamstrap seemed to be the best choice.
PRO:
The straps that wrapped around our bodies did a good job of distributing the weight and felt comfortable.
CON:
The strap is too narrow. We were always fighting to keep the strap under the TV set from sliding away.
CONCLUSION:
After our experience, I don't think any product of this type could have helped us.
The weight of the TV was too much for the two of us. After the first flight of stairs, we were exhausted. We took the straps off. We placed cardboard underneath the 200 pound TV and slid it up the second flight of stairs.
Hope this helps.

Very secure way to carry and move large awkward objects. It allows proper and safe lifting. I prefer wearing the harness in a criss cross over the shoulders. Read the instructions first. It wasn't completely obvious how to use the three straps. Once I read the instructions, it was perfectly clear.

I bought these to help move an apartment. And let me just say my buddy and I were actually bummed that we were not sore after the move. These straps made moving so easy we had that place cleared out in an hour! They were easy to figure out and adjust and worked well for all larger furniture and a mattress. All in all, definitely glad I got them and looking forward to moving something else now. Ha ha.
