This review is from: Tears for Fears: Tales from the Big Chair (Paperback)
Will Hall has done an excellent job in describing where Tears For Fears has come from, the success they have enjoyed, and the road that they hoped to take in 1985.
Even their former band "Graduate" is covered. There's a discography in the back of the book as well.
Not to mention all of the pictures in the book... color ones, b/w ones....on-stage and promotional...
The book also gives some insight on the childhood of the two members. Roland talks about his relationship with his father, and his father talks about his relationship with his son... It's not uncommon that Roland talks about the rough times with his dad, but it is quite rare to hear his dad's side of the story. Curt also reveals some of the mischief he caused as a teen.
By the time Tears For Fears reached their stardom, they had released 2 albums. This book details the feelings that the band had about each single's individual release and the success each one had (or lack thereof).
The stresses of touring, the hardships experienced with record execs, the psychology of the band members (which is what Tears For Fears is all about) their fears, their goals... it's all here in this book.
Tales From The Big Chair is a highly recommended book for any true Tears For Fears fan.
