This song was played at my dad's funeral. Every time I hear it, it reminds be of my dad as well as my mom too. Its a very beautiful song. I listen to it often.

The sound and the songs are just exquisite!
I decided to buy this CD, after attempting unsuccessfully to download twice the song "Tears in heaven."

I have heard the song many times before, but did not know the depth and sorrow of the song and why it was written. After learning the tragic story and the healing process that hopefully helped Eric Clapton and the child's mother get through; I wanted to have it in my collection. The song and music stirs emotions in all of us as to how precious and fragile life really is, and how we should love and appreciate one another with what God has given us.

this song always comforts me as i have lost many relatives and really miss them.

must say i really dislike amazon's word count, they should get rid of this feature as it is really a turn off and stops me from posting all reviews as i do not care for restrictions when posting reviews.

I would like to do this more, if you would not require more words
but this song was written after the death of his son and it is the most touching song and words and only
Eric can deliver it properly..
I love to hear him sing this song....

Like there is really anything I can say about this song. It's a classic that speaks for itself. For those who do not know the story about this song, as I understand it, was written to honor Eric's young son who drowned.

Religion has been the institutional way in which culture attempts to keep this kind of thinking alive. I sang in church choirs at some stages in life and wanted to do the Bob Dylan song I Shall Be Released during a church service before I did his gospel songs like When He Returns. Dreams and movies with fantasies of high places or falling through space invoke the kind of death that Tears In Heaven is a response to suitable for brains to latch onto. If life gives you lemmings, play some lemming music.
