Product Description

Experience the visual beauty of the agony of the leaf while you enjoy the taste purity of brewing in all natural 3-piece hand-blown glass without the influences of metal. The large brew basket delivers the full flavor of teas, herbals and rooibos. The ease of brewing in the perfectly sized 1-1/2 cup (12-ounces) mug makes this a no-brainer. Place 1 1/2 teaspoons of tea leaves in the infuser basket - pour in hot water - brew - remove the glass brew basket and enjoy. The glass lid doubles as a coaster for the brew basket. Dishwasher and Microwave Safe. Complete brewing and care instructions included.

Customer Reviews

This is an excellent tea cup for loose teas.
Linda K. Cardott
The glass is extremely thin, and I would guess that (even allowing that I was unlucky) a high percentage of shipments arrive broken.
Bob Houk
Something you would find in the dollar store.

I have used mine for over a year and am so thrilled that I came back to Amazon to purchase two more. I like that only glass is touching my tea and it is not picking up any toxic or metallic tastes. I originally purchased in August 2009 along with Primula PTA-3512 Tea Maker with Infuser / Primula PTA-3512 Tea Maker with Infuser and much prefer Teas Etc 12-Ounce Glass Brew Mug with Glass Brew Basket and Lid / Teas Etc 12-Ounce Glass Brew Mug with Glass Brew Basket and Lid for several reasons. First, when you pour hot water into the glass infuser, the water flows readily through the slits in the bottom in the Teas, Etc mug but is slow in the Primula mug so that I have to stop pouring a couple of times and wait for the water to catch up flowing from the infuser into the mug and leveling off. Secondly, the Teas, Etc basket is bigger than the Primula infuser basket which is probably what causes the slowdown discussed in reason number 1. Thirdly, Once brewed you remove the lid, invert it to the counter or table, remove the infuser basket letting the sieved tea flow through to your mug and set the infuser basket on your inverted lid which you can use as a coaster.Read more ›

I like the design but it is too fragile. The glass is thin and will break easily. The strainer insert has already broken. The crack began where the little slits are cut in the bottom. Definitely needs some re-engineering with some thicker glass and maybe a plastic snap-on lid for traveling.

It is a very nice product, makes tea drinking a lot easier, especially in office environment. The cup is microwave safe and I used it to heat up water in microwave.

I would rate it a 5-star, if the packaging were padded better inside. I received broken cups without dent on the external of the package box. Amazon customer support was nice to deal with and quickly send replacement.

Beware, these glass cups are PAPER THIN and more delicate than fine China. 25% chance they will be damaged upon shipment. Something you would find in the dollar store. Certainly not worth $15 at all.

"Experience the visual beauty of the agony of the leaf"?
I may not be able to enjoy my tea for a week. Or I may die laughing.

Dear writer of this description: Tea leaves do not writhe in agony. If they did it would be a sort of an SM thing, wouldn't it?
They *dance*. Preferably with joy.

You so need to change this.

Five stars for best tea fetish.

Edit: It IS called 'the agony of the leaf'. Joke's on me, apologies to the non-audience who didn't read this, fortunately.
I will try to get off on it. Dunno, man...

The one glass that arrived intact was just what I was looking for. The other one was broken; I didn't make time to return it for a replacement.

What a difference it makes to have somewhere the tea leaves can expand and release all their goodness. If it weren't for their plain-jane appearance, I would make tea in nothing else.

I now can't imagine living without this tea mug. I use it EVERY morning. I have 2 residences and have one at each place, so I don't miss a morning. The tea comes out brewed perfectly and you don't have to be bothered with teapots or all kinds of thingamajigs for holding tea in a cup. It's elegant, too.
