5.0 out of 5 stars Must have ! June 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
If you are a seasoned herbalist or just some one who wants try your hand at a few herbal remedies... This is the book you need!

It is chalked full of valuble info, not only about the herbs medical proporties.. But how to use them, what is safe and what isn't and what you could use them for!

Very well put together and of course the authors humor is showing through!

She writes her books in a way that is not only useful info, but entertaining as well!

And she even throws in some folklore and history of the herbs!

A most have book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Teas for Life - a Fresh Idea to Herbalism June 6, 2012
By J. Sipe
Format:Kindle Edition
I couldn't wait to get my hands on Diane Kidman's latest Herb ebook. Teas for Life: 101 Herbal Ideas for Greater Health is just what I have been looking for. It's easy to read and is loaded with fun humor. I especially appreciate the fact the the herbs are listed in alphabetical order according to their most common names. This is a great help to those of us who are not proficient in Latin names. Each herb is listed with Uses, Parts Used, Constituents(chemical properties), Dosage needed, author's Notes, and Warnings.
Teas for Life is an extremely thorough book in a small package, therefore making it one that I will more quickly pick up as my family has a need.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource! July 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a truly wonderful book for those interested in using herbalism as medicinal tea. Note: the author does provide a disclaimer that you should check with your doctor before utilizing any of the teas to treat specific medical issues, especially if you are taking prescription medications. That said, the herbs are listed alphabetically and there is a thorough description of what each herb may be used for. There are also interesting notes about the herbs that provide background or unusual tidbits about the herb. While the author occasionally mentions herbal tea blends throughout the book, the one thing I would like to have seen would be a section listing various herbal blends. Overall, this book is an excellent resource & I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for beginners! June 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My husband and I love teas and have been trying to adjust our lifestyle to be as healthy as possible. I was very excited to get my hands on Diane Kidman's book, "Teas for Life..." so that I could begin to learn more about natural herbal teas. I absolutely love this book for two reasons: 1) it is very informative! As a beginner in the herbal tea world, I really had no clue where to begin, but Diane covers everything I need to know, from detailed information about the herbs (that are very conveniently organized in the book for quick access), which parts are the best to use and how to extract the necessary essentials from the herbs with proper brewing instructions. 2) I absolutely LOVE her humor! It was such a pleasant treat to find myself laughing out loud as I read through the book. Who says reference books have to be stuffy? Not Diane! She made learning about herbal teas FUN!

I highly recommend this book for ANY household! Again, there is such a wealth of information in its pages, even you don't think you will use it often, it is still a GREAT resource to have on hand!

4.0 out of 5 stars I devoured this book in one sitting! December 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Unlike most books about health, this one doesn't leave you thinking, "oh no - I have that and that and that!" It leaves you thinking, "I can alleviate this and this and this with...tea?"

I'm a big believer in self- and nutritional healing and Teas for Life offers many alternatives for wellness through herbalism.

Having it in a Kindle version makes it searchable, too! What a great resource!

4.0 out of 5 stars A quick, informative, funny read December 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This little book is chock-full of information about teas -- how they're good for you, what they have in them, when they work best, when not to drink them, and much more -- written in a clever, wry style. I caught myself chuckling as I highlighted teas I wanted to try. The listing of vendors in the back is very helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very informative December 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I haven't finished the book, but what I've read so far has been insightful, enlightening and intriguing. I already have many bookmarks and highlights. The author lists herbs in alphabetical order, states the most effective way to prepare each tea, explains how each preparation mode differs and also a little history with appropriate warnings. Recommend!
