Well, it's not just a tease-this CD delivers the goods with 14 tracks of jazz, R&B and exotica that all have that certain bump-and-grind beat! Don't let the title put you off. Aside from the overplayed novelty number "The Stripper" and the Barney Kessel tune, virtually everything here is prime saxophone-based instrumentals. The lion's share of tracks go to Sam 'the Man' Taylor, and when you hear him you'll understand why. There's also a fantastic version of 'Harlem Nocturne' and a killer Charlie Parker cut. This is mostly small combo jazz and jump blues. While it's true that almost every track here would have been a fine soundtrack for a vintage stripper like Blaze Starr, it's equally true that they would be the perfect backdrop for a late-period film noir flick. Honestly, put on 'Harlem Nocturne' and it's so easy to envision neon lights, rainy streets, black-and-white imagery, and private eyes in trenchcoats and fedoras rushing past the shadows.

This is probably my most-played CD of the past couple weeks. I think you're going to enjoy it.

This is an entertaining collection of tunes for beginning burlesquers to use. The absence of lyrics in most of the music will emphasize the dance aspect of your performance, and the beats will keep you on time without even trying. But even if you don't perform, this is a wonderful release of nearly lost music!

I LOVE this cd! The music is absolutely perfect for burlesque or dancing or stripping. The sound quality is a little foggy, but personally I think it adds to the character of each song. A good mix of songs, some slow and slinky while others upbeat and energetic. Highly reccomend for profesional dancers, jazz enthusiasts, or just for some fun dirty dancing on your own!

I wouldn't neccessary say that all of the cuts on this CD are "Stripper Music" but there's enough of them here. And any CD that has honking horns played by Sam "The Man" Taylor, Red Prysock, and Syl Austin, is okay with me.

What a fun CD... it's very difficult NOT to feel sexy when you hear this mix of seductive tunes. Like some other reviewers, I agree that the sound quality is at times a little sketchy, but I feel it adds even more character to already soulful recordings. You can get your bump-and-grind on, or I find it's even a good CD to pop in the car player before a date--really gets you in the sultry feminine mindset. Go for it, ladies!

Just about every song is great if you like Burlesque. I got the CD basically for one song and was pleasantly surprised who good the whole CD is. Some of the songs I remember from songs my father played on our record player. Brought back some good memories.

I love the music, sultry, sexy, and beautiful. It's great just as background music at a dinner party to create an upbeat and fun environment for dancing.
